I'm not saying that the level is too hard. I'm saying it's bullshit and it should be redone.

I've only played it once, and it's unworthy of being played a second time.

The first time I tried to attack the boss, I sent +40 armies vs his 20, but at the start of the turn, it changed to 60. Then 3 or 4 turns later, I attacked with over 100 armies, and his army changed from 60 to 300 at the start of the turn. It looks to me that the way the "boss" works is to arbitrarily raise its army to be much bigger than the nearest player army at the start of the turn. This means that the actual game mechanic is, "make it impossible to win, but do so in a way that is deceptive so that the player has to commit time to the game before he realizes that it's impossible."

The way the boss works was never explained. It's not explained when he gets bigger, it's not explained that his armies work like a commander, it's not explained whether beating him wins you the game. This is BS. For a good game, you should explain the rules of the game to the player. It is annoying to have to play once and lose to be able to understand the rules (which I had done on a couple previous levels). However, after playing this game once, it appears that the rule is, "make it impossible for the player to win." If it's part of the game to increase the boss' strength, they should tell you when they're going to do it, and/or they should do it at the end of the turn. Otherwise, it's literally impossible to know whether you are about to win, or you are about to get royally screwed.

This level deserves minus 5 stars for being impossible, but made to not show you how impossible it is until you've already committed to trying to beat it. Literally it would have been a better level for your commander to have 0 armies on turn 1 and be surrounded by armies of 1000 on all sides, because in this case, you'd realize it was a joke level. In this case, then I would increase the ranking of the level to 0 out of 5 stars.

Even if somebody else beat it, the map is still bullshit because how it works is not explained. The boss when I played leveled up faster than these playthroughs. I have very good reason to believe from my play through that the boss arbitrarily gets more armies than the player whenever you try to attack it.

There is a chance that mechanics of bosses were changed since players made the walkthroughs.

Play the level, view the history and learn from your mistakes. You don’t get better by giving up.

There is a link to how the boss works, but it doesn't explain which boss is which. I actually saw that wiki on turn 1 when I played the level, but the description of "Boss 1" was not consistent with the behavior of this boss, which was the first boss I had ever seen. Therefore, I had assumed that the wiki was out of date.

Now that I have played the level, it seems to me that this is probably boss 2, and I just got extremely unlucky that the first two times I tried to attack the boss were the exact two instances in which the boss' strength was set to increase. Based on this coincidence, it was reasonable for me to conclude at the time that the boss' strength increased in reaction to my own choice to attack it, which would be a bullshit mechanic.

So then my complaint comes down to the basically nonexistent explanation of the rules. In order to understand how it worked, I had to play once, AND THEN search through a wiki. This is a very poor player experience.
