Why not petition something that can actually get changed. Like Poon Crews member and clan name.

Its gonna be going to Warzone and nothings gonna change that.

lol I just said on one of their threads that they need to grow up before people start petitions against them. Nice to know I'm not mad and other people have thought about this :).

It only "wrecks" forums for those who want to break the rules and act like kids. If you've had your forum experience ruined by mods in the past, maybe you should check yourself.

Also, if there is a forum mod he will almost certainly be from America which will not go down well for us British when we use sarcasm.

The only way to stop WarLingt becoming warzone is for someone to find the owner of warzone.com and outbid Fizzer, but this is going further than I think is worth.

atleast the new logo also works for warlight and not just warzone :)

I still don't care. It won't change my experience on here at all. I said this in the other thread, there are better sounding names IMO, but perhaps those domains were not available either.

In the end, who cares? We'll adjust to the name quickly I think. I would much rather spend energy on the items I care about:

more invite lists (clan, friends, all, etc)
team chat in solo game (for making notes in game)
3v3 europe ladder
tournament filters
tournament/forums in mobile app
clan rankings
clan ladders
weighted random move order
filter orders by player (helps a lot in big games)
forum mod functions (like combining threads)
...

There are a LOT of things I care more about than the name here.

for all who state that "this i just a name"

the name is vey importatnt, because now i can tell my friend or people at work that I am playing warlight form time to time and that this is an elaborated strategic game.

but soon I will have to tell them (as it would be clearly visible on the computer screen) that I am playing sth called "warzone" and then i would have to explain them that this isnt another game for 10-years old kids, it is only named in so dumb. In other words - soon I ll be ashamed that i am playing sth called "warzone". I dont know Fizzer how old are you, but clearly this name is childish and it sucks and it is obvious for most people around here that this name is good for some farmsimulatorstyle game, but not for warlight.

If you really had to chnge the name, you could ask the community, aor even make a contest for a new name, I am sure that there would be dozens of cool names

There are ideas there from 2010 that also look very popular. It makes me doubt how Fizzer really treats Uservoice like we would expect him to.
The forums are also a place for our voices to be heard. Fizzer should be checking these forums on a very regular basis so he WILL see these messages and have to read through them. So yes, this is also a place for this.

I'm quite certain Fizzer is looking for the best return on investment of his time and effort into Warlight. Not all ideas are going to be equally attainable as I'm sure a major code rewrite would be required for several of them. keeping the same name is very low investment we just need to convince him of the value and while posting let's him know what some people want it's not easily quantifiable.

He's well aware that there are people that don't like this change. A "petition" which this post claims to be doesn't work well in forums, hence "not really the place for this". So do it someplace that is well designed for petitions. If you just want a place to blow off steam and let Fizzer know that you personally are against it then this is the appropriate place. If you want a petition then vote.

Yes, but keep in mind this was/is a hobby for him. He has another job. It is much easier to find a problem than fix it. I think some would be easy, but others not, even if popular.

I dont believe a name change is good, it takes away from the identity of the game in my opinion.

Honestly l think the name change is good. It gets rid of the light, making it look like just another start up beta. And warzone sounds a lot more professional. Someone asks fizzed what he's done for the past few years he can say, oh yeah heard of the game warzone? But that's just the humble opinion of a hermit

The chief argument is that Warlight as a name is unique and has a lot of history attached to it. And in an earlier thread it was argued that Warzone was a lot more generic.
