The US government has proven itself as bad at fighting the Drug dealer/terrorist bunch in Afghanistan and the possibility of defection by US military personnel is high

It would require a mixture of :

A) General public fervor about a revolution (at least a 40% appeal to it, which should quickly snowball in event of a Revolution )
B) Great deal of Professional Military defection
C) Terrible political infighting
D) At least 2:1 rate of Unarmed Civilians to Armed Civilians, to ensure a proper militia/guerilla fighting force.
E) Good intelligence sources on Federal Activity.
F) Very powerful rallying points ( Texas' "Remember the Alamo" , America's "Remember Pearl harbor!", or "Workers of the world, unite!" ).

We never necessarily had a "revolution". I'd consider it a Revolutionary War. It wasn't by any means truly a revolution, it was merely a war for independence.

Any armed uprising would face serious initial roadblocks. A peaceful overturning of the current government would be easier and less costly in the end.

if it is, i am much impressed with his sense of humor.

on the topic....not happening, ever, the democrats and republicans don't hate each other nearly enough for an actual war at the moment, and a large scale military defection is required for it to not get crushed in two months.
