I originally started making this map before my 1939 one, but abandoned it because the 1939 map was in higher demand. I then started making the 1789 one, but I think Orbis Veteribus Notus is better, to be honest, so I'm switching to this one. I'll add all the testers who were supposed to be testing 1789 to this one such that they still have something to test.

-------------------------------------

Description: "Orbis Veteribus Notus" (English: ~Map of the World) was originally produced in 1794 by the French geographer and cartographer Jean Baptiste Bourguignon d'Anville. It covers all of Europe, and parts of Africa and Asia as it was known to the people of the Ancient World around the year 0BC, with all the place names in the dominant language of the time, Latin. It is considered to be one of the best maps of its kind, and used the works of Ptolemy, Herodotus, Thucydides, and others in its creation.

I've attempted to convert this magnificent piece of art into a WarLight map such that we can accurately experience what diplomacy was like in the Ancient World (I hope), rather than using other maps that weren't built for such purposes.

Finally, I'd like to give credit to eliod, from whom I aquired the art style for this map via his map "Rise and Fall of the Roman Empire."

Multiple things:

1. I hate this style of map, Just like I didn't like https://www.warlight.net/Map/13912-Rise-Fall-Roman-Empire (I don't know why you've taken on this style, your usual one looks and plays much better)
2. The Awkward Tilt of the map is horrendous, I know you're trying to keep the original style, but it just looks odd.
3. Why is Nineveh a major city? Certainly there were more important cities than that.

On the other hand, it looks very promising, and all your maps are excellent, so I must expect as much from this one.

1)Yeah, the thing is, I know people seem to like my maps, but I felt they were starting to become a little repetitive, so I've decided to use a different style for once.

2) Other have also suggested changing it. I'll wait a bit and see what other people think ,but it remains a consideration.

3) Nineveh was the capital of Assyria, that's why I've included it. Additionally, there aren't that many ancient cites that have been mapped properly, but Nineveh has.

Two things:

Nineveh -> Nineve
Athenis -> Athenae

Also, still haven't fixed OE and AE.

I think it might actually be better to keep OE and AE, condiering what this map actually. It's not, specifically, a map of the Ancient World, it's a copy of a map that already exists. Unlike in the past, what I'm making already exists, and the only change I'm making is adding those cities, so perhaps it would be more accurate to keep them, no?

Your choice, but stick to either way you pick: New Latin or Old Latin.

Be that as it may (and your answers to 2 and 3 I will accept), I don't think using another person's style is a good idea, especially because it's such an awkward style to play on.

Personally, I like this style. Anyway, it's too late to change the style of it now, really

Nice map, I'd like to test it. I think the style is great. One thing you might consider is adding some transparency to the tan "map" and blue ocean so they aren't so bright and look more like an old map.
