I think the blacklist is one of the most useful features in Warlight.
I am hoping it will be improved so it would include the forums and hide BL posts.
Also if it could make me automatically unjoin a game when a BL joins or unjoin a tournament if a BL player joins my team that would be a big help
also like the BL % idea
and my blacklist has 1553 members post if you have more :-)

Hiding posts written by blacklisted people is a bad idea. You have many players on your blacklist, so the chance that 2-3 of them would post in a row is quite big. Then you'd read the thread, answer and your post would probably look like an offtop or just trolling.

I only have 31 on my list.
Edit: +1 to the running count of people on your BL idea.

+1 to the idea

My BL is 17 people, most of whom are from the CORP Clanwide Blacklist.

I don't like blacklisting people. One reason is that I feel I'll miss something. Another is that trolls are slightly entertaining. They're like pickles, they don't actually go with anything but they always make things more interesting.

Blacklist for me has nothing to do with forums. I mostly blacklist people who join my team on tournaments when I say "reserved"

I use the black list all the time. It's a nice feature to prevent joining games with people I would rather not play games with. Usually I BL people if they rude/obnoxious or if they go afk or surrender super early, especially on the first turn. There have been games I've joined where people think it's funny just to ruin them by attacking their own teammates, so they end up on the BL too.

Right. A blacklist isn't a "punishment" as much as it's a list of players you want to avoid playing with. I usually blacklist people for:

- racism/sexism/excessive trolling (so Proud2BWhite is on there) as they tend to ruin in-game experiences for most players and occasionally drive people away; I'm a bit loose with this rule- I think ChrisCMU hinted at this, but even Poon Squad is capable of redemption

- violating diplomacy rules and deliberately being PE- the fact that these rules can't be enforced through software means that we have to be strict about enforcing them ourselves. Without any punishment for PE-ing, it becomes advantageous to break diplomacy rules and cheat.

- extremely disrespectful behavior (for the same reason as rule #1) so people like Kapy and Ion Antonescu are on there

- joining reserved teams in tournaments

Basically, blacklists are players' best method for enforcing player created rules and social norms.

I am surprised that I only have 24 on mine.

I blacklist people when I put something in notes for when I meet them again. For example, if they broke a peace deal without the agreed notice.
If they appear on my blacklist, I know there are notes on them. Without the blacklist I would not know the notes are there as I do not check the notes for every player in every game.

Three on mine. What really suprised me is that very few people on the forums have actually BL'ed me. Perhaps it is because I don't go PE a lot...

Do you often feel 'offended'? Do you also need a "safe space" so nobody can give you any slightly bad feelings?
I honestly don't know why you find such a self-censorship attractive.

Some posts in the thread sound reasonable (the goal is to have good matches), but some ("i don't want to sense ANYTHING from people who i was mad at in the past for any reason") make people sound like screeching third wave feminists who talk about their block lists on twitter.

It's probably not as much about offense as much as it's about being able to read a forum thread without having to wade through spam. Not very many people on WL are openly "offensive" all the time on forums- I mean, this isn't exactly /r/ImGoingToHellForThis.

Some people might just want to read the Clan League 7 thread without having to wade through a couple of pages of troll comments about Clan League.

You got to have the right mixture of salt and vinegar, and sugar for the sugar folks.

By the way, noone really uses Reddit on Warlight.

^ True, but reddit's an epicenter of anti-SJW/"you have a right to be offended" rhetoric, and most vocal community members have always been snide toward "muh feels"-type people, so the example was more likely to be relatable to Kartoffelr.
