Good map, Nic. But why not include the Russian Arctic islands and perhaps the northern reaches of the Russian and Alaskan mainland? I'm also worried a bit that in the 1v1 distribution the player starting in Finland is disadvantaged by his distance to Greenland. Then again, while it is easier to capture the Canadian superbonus, it leaves one's armies well out of position once that task is complete.

I considered adding part of Russia, but the islands would look very distorted and strange. (For the same reason I did not add more of Canada.) Also, I would think that Finland has the advantage, because being on a larger part of land with more territories, it would be a little easier to spread outward. Plus, the Scandinavia bonus only has 2 points to defend. I like your thinking though, and thanks for playing!

Arctic is a great map to play on, I especially like the simplicity and how it is nice for having quick games and practising.

Quick yet satisfying. Something I have never been told in bed.

This mao looks good before you get in, but once you play it is a slightly different story.

I played two 1v1 games on this vs. an AI, and in the first game I started in the Finland bonus. It was as fun a game as you can get when playing an AI in a 1v1 game. The map felt easy to play and I only had a couple of minor objections (which I will list below). Then I started in Canada. I expanded and captured all of Greenland and Canada, and then got smashed by the AI. I do know that I played the best I could. I agree with you when you say that Finland has the bonus; in fact, the map is unfair against Canada.

As to my minor objections, the territories in the Ellesmere Island bonus are a little squished together and a little hard to identify which islands are territories and which connect to which, etc. I hope that this map could be improved, as it does look like a fun one to play on!

Edit: I think that it was done before you reduced the bonuses

I'm not sure if this post was made before or after I edited the map, but I had reduced the Norway bonus and the Sweden bonus by 1.

very unbalanced. The bonuses pile up quickly in the western end.

Thanks for rating. And pretty much all of my maps look like this, or will look like this, it's the style I use.
