When Fizzer warned a while back that My Games would be going away, I just started using the Dashboard. I HATE getting booted, so I like that it obviously shows the boot time and how long I have left. (Did you think I was going to say I HATED the dashboard? Hope so.) I like how I can see the settings at a glance. I would never have even seen this thread if I was only on My Games. The dashboard suits me well, as I only really play tournaments and clan games, and only rarely look at open games.

Also, why are people arguing here at all? To the haters: When has bitching ever changed Fizzer's mind? To the supporters: When has bitching ever changed Fizzer's mind?

I don't mind the dashboard. I like the open games and my games tab because it's easier. But I can and would get used to the dashboard if it becomes easier to navigate/use the dashboard when I am drunk. Thanks Fiz.

After trying to join games(real time) it seems like joining them was easier with the open games tab. they loaded faster I mean, showed games that didnt start allready. I am biased but the open games/my games is better in my opinion. Please bring it back or make the dashboard better.

I do wish parts of the Dashboard wouldn't overlap.

I also wish I could sort out what games would show up there more easily,

(ie: Multi-day games with a 2 day minimum limit, cheap-to-enter coin games,
diplomacy games, Auto-Games, FFA Games, Lottery Games, etc.)

and Tournaments should get a visual display like the other categories, not just a link off to the side.

Nopes, he did answer some questions about it in the AMA though (somewhere in the beginning)

Oh my word, eleven pages of this stuff, people complaining about someone taking away a couple of tabs that only duplicate information presented on the top page anyway. Does it really cause you a problem? I mean talking for myself, I don't spend a whole lot of time in the menu system, and I'm not that bothered about the design of it, I tend to spend more time inside the actual game.

fizzer should participate more with his community, so no everything has not been said, we need this kind of threads active to point out what's wrong and could be improved, but we definitely need FIzzer here too.

or he should have some kind of administrative team which would be responsible to bridge between fizer and us

Or you could check Fizzers youtube page and watch the stream and listen to everything he says about it everything.

Fizzer has an associate, I think Mercer is his name, but he is never active so yeah he truly needs new collaborators or people helping him to run this website...

the reason why i proposed it this way is because fizer has shown over the years that he is less and less willign to talk to us. The advantage of this team would be a contact to fizer but ti wouldnt be fizer himself, if anything goes wrong he can always say it wasnt him, so they wouldnt be actual administrators

For those of you flipping out, if you had the "My Games" screen saved as a shortcut, you can still get to it. The page itself wasn't removed, just all links to it.

yeah, I would be eventually it goes away. perhaps not prior to some dashboard tweaking I hope.

Please bring back my games and open games tabs. My computer isn't very powerful so I can't load something as large as Dashboard and do anything else at the same time which is a problem because it TAKES A LONG TIME to load dashboard. Whereas it only takes half the time to load up my games and catch up on my multidays for times when I don't have enough time for rt.

Now everything is thrown into the same page making a laggy, annoying, and difficult user interface.

P.S. I do use dashboard once I have completed my multidays and played a few rts as a fast way to check on the main forum and clan forums. Dashboard needs to be kept but my games and open games need to come back.

^^ This is brilliant.. It connects the WarLight community and encourages the top players to do streams to help lesser-skilled players.. This is a feature that deserves nothing but praise.. surely :)

"History Overhaul"

Minor change.. But It has just made the game so much easier to review.. Instead of opening a history box which covers almost half the map.. This was a feature that probably should've been put in earlier.. It has just made reviewing games more easier and more convenient than before.. Love it!! But the perspective setting is just it re-makes the scenario of playing the game .. if thats makes any sense.. it's reliving what you would've planned or what could've done to win the game each turn..

"Recent Games Page"

It's a handy tool for members and streamers to find games.. quickly and more conveniently.. Altough it doesn't affect the majority of the Warlight community.. It is a welcomed change =)

"In-progress real-time games now always show up in the My Games section"

I thought this was always in place? If someone is caring enough to explain that would be helpful

"Other Changes"

-Much needed the setting to sort out games by ended date.. This will make it more easier for players to find games that they would review.. This will help many.

-Your templates are now sorted by how recently you used them to create a multi-player game... Makes it more convenient.. Will work well with some

-The ability to override bonuses has been moved to a high level, and some level rewards were re-arranged to make room for it..... This will give a new-aspect to diplomacy games... It will give more creativity to game creating..

- The bomb card now shows a faded “Bomb” over the territory, like the abandon and blockade cards do.. Makes the game more strategic..

-"Ads are automatically disabled when purchasing a membership instead of requiring users to uncheck a box." .. Minor changes.. Only purpose is for members who haven't found the settings button yet..

- "Live-streamers can now create open tournaments for free for the use of live-streaming. Visit https://www.warlight.net/RequestLivestreamPermission to request this."... I love this update... It will make more streamers create open tournaments for the public which will include the wider community.. It's a small setting but I think it have a impact in how streams are held...

-Removed links to the old My Games and Open Games pages. They can still be accessed by url for now: https://www.warlight.net/MultiPlayer?MyGames=1 https://www.warlight.net/MultiPlayer?OpenGames=1
...... I don't see the reason if your going to remove "my games" and "open games" if you are still going to release the URL.. But besides that this is the only setting that has over-shadowed the whole update as a whole.. Which is pretty sad cause this update is actually great when you know the whole update.. But people are complaining and calling it a bad update just for this setting.. This is not a good change.. It is crowding the "dashboard" there is too much going on for me with tabs going everywhere.. I do get loss sometimes, How will newbies guide their way through? I will give an example.. go on this site playdiplomacy.com and see the comparisons in negotiating through to a open game...


Conclusion = This has been an overall good update... Some (This was the key word I was looking for) People are just being ignorant as usuall only noticing the one change that people just don't like.. Just look at this blog above and read the updates .. Most people haven't and has judged a book from their cover with the tabs gone... Really guys.. We should be praising Fizzer for the brilliant update.. It has encouraged streaming and reviewing of games. I do believe the tabs being removed is a really bad idea and serves no purpose as I've explained above.. The only thing we could possibly do is just keep up the pressure of wanting the tabs back and Fizzer may include it back in Update 3.11...

Seeing how much negative comments have been posted here by many different people, and as they also detailed what was wrong for them, I highly doubt that it is only a matter of "ignorance", this is actually a pretty arrogant comment from you. You do not simply judge people by insulting them. This is totally childish.
