Do those games matter for Blitz? i have no idea what the Standings are

I think 4th/5th place is between WG and Blitz. So it matters there, but not relegation vs not.

in that case why not Count it as loss? you should probably contact blitz if they care about it. 4th/5th place seem not worth to wait for months

no because it would greatly affect who gets 1st spot. FC only have 1 game left, against blitz. Apex has 2 games left, 1 vs blitz and 1 vs GG. And for now FC and Apex are tied for max point

Well, it is not going to hold up CL8 really. I am starting on preparations for that today already.

There is a spot in C not finalized yet (between 3 clans in D), but otherwise promotions/relegations are pretty much set. So we can proceed with the ground work for CL8 now. We have enough to do (some rule issues to sort out, template discussions) to keep us busy while these games finish.

Who are the clans that could be taking that AFAIK an extra spot in c Chris? On my knowledge LuFredd and VS won D1 and D2 so two teams promote, Bottom two C teams demote.

D is the top 2 teams, regardless of division (since it was just luck of the draw on who was in what division). Top 2 total points moves on, so Lu Fredd is not for sure moved on yet.

Also, if any other team drops out above them, then extra promotions occur (like when WM stopped playing CL). So there is often something to play for even if you think there may not be.

That seems highly unfair. In my opinion, total points is not what should determine who gets those 2 spots. I think a lot of people were under the assumption that the top 1 team of each division would go through to C. Just a heads up.

I will recheck but i thought i stated that up front. We will stick with the expectations I set either way

EDIT- You are correct, i said top points for all spots after winners. So 3rd+ in D are total points across D...in case there is a 3rd promotion from a drop out

That means Lu Fredd moves up and the rest are fighting for a spot if a clan falls out of league at all

I was under that assumption aswell, This is the first time I've heard about max points! We were talking in C about who would get promoted in cl8 as we were fully sure the winners of d1 and d2 would move on. .. I think there is a clear misunderstanding here..

What? I don't understand what is going on. I'm pretty sure that plenty of people made statements that both the first clans from D1 and D2 would progress and nobody from the official committee intervened. Also I don't see the point in this new interpretation being fair since the win rates of D2 are obviously influenced by the freebies against the DARKLORDS.

AFAIK, Ahol has declared they are dropping out of the league, Therefore creating a new spot in B, What are the procedures tobdealing which clan gets this spot?

For as far i've been reading it will actually be the 3rd in C who will promote as well into the position of AHOL which is created by them dropping out.
This also means that in C there will be an additional spot free which will be for the clan with the highest points out of the D clans that finished in 2nd place.

Of course i'm not part of the comitee so i can't confirm any of this but this is how it will happen as far as i'm aware of.

Well, If that happens we fan expect people to argue that this rule is ridiculous that is the vibe I'm getting from the d1 thread. So there will be a bit of frustration and arguing, Have darklords in your group inflates the points your clan is going to get will be the common argument.

AHol vacates their spot in B (since they were relegated). A 3rd clan in C gets promoted into that spot (101st). There is then an extra spot in C, which is filled by the 3rd place team in D (Yin Yang).

Yes, Darklords could have inflated points, but if another clan was in their place (and playing), can you prove someone would not have gotten wins vs them? No way to know. We have to just go by the rules that were in place (total points). Can't play the what if game. It really isn't a big deal as we are hoping to fix the promotion aspect anyway in CL9 (so the best play the best, without waiting many seasons).

Question: What exactly is this CLOT format? I've flicked back about 5 pages and still can't find a definitive answer.I'm genuinely confused and would like to know what are the advantages of doing this switch and what implications will there in terms of line ups and playing games?

It isn't really posted because we have not figured it all out (which is why it can't happen in CL8).

Basically, we'd have a CLOT for each template type. Clan leaders would submit who is on each ladder representing them. Players would get matched up by rating (no algorithm determined yet). The clan would get an aggregate score of players on CLOTs. The team score would determine who gets into a 'playoff', held every so often (maybe 6 months). The playoff might be the top 8 teams, and would be the same format as the current clan league. The leader would send a team as normal to the playoff.


So, this does several things.

1) allows for matchups outside divisions (but still based on rating/skill). So a great player plays a great player, regardless of how new the clan is.

2) allows for clans to compete right away (no promotion system)

3) allows for clans with not enough to compete for a title/playoff to still compete in smaller numbers on the CLOTs

4) lessens admin work (only 8 team playoff after automated)

5) makes the CL scalable (right now we have big issues with all the new clans joining, it is getting out of control)

6) accommodates retirements (can replace the player on the CLOT, again we have rating details to work out)


There are many questions yet to work out, we are just in brainstorming phase right now. So don't get too wrapped up in the details. but I think this is a much better system for the long haul.

I also hope an automated series of CLOTs could end up on the site itself as well (from Fizzer). The playoff would still be an offsite run league...but I think we could get the ladders themselves official if run smooth and we have good participation.
