REMINDER!

Season 3 starts this Sunday November 22nd. Any player who has not accepted their tournament invitation by then will be removed from the league and will have to start next season as a new player in the bottom group if they still wish to participate.

Good luck to all players, and please note that new players can still join up until the season starts on Sunday.

It'd be good to PM players a few days from Sunday whom haven't joined, just incase they didn't check their tournaments and didn't spot this thread, just a thought :)

I did PM everyone individually several days ago at the same time as I wrote the above, Fleecemaster, so they've had plenty of time to join. Only a couple of players didn't join, thankfully.

Groups A, B, C, and D are now running, and I expect Groups E, F1, and F2 will start pretty soon. Good luck to all players for season 3.

For the players who didn't join their tournaments, we'd still like you to participate in future seasons, so feel free to rejoin the league next season.

Assuming no mid-season drop-outs, here is the P/R for season 3. Please be aware that at this stage this is only a guide, and if players leave the league or become inactive, this may change.

As a couple of the higher groups have less players, there will once again be super-promotions this season to fill those spaces. Also, there will be less relegations in most groups.

Group A:
10 players. 1st-6th remain in Group A. 7th-10th relegate to Group B.

Group B:
8 players. 1st-3rd promote to Group A. 4th-6th remain in Group B. 7th-8th relegate to Group C.

Group C:
10 players. 1st super-promotes to Group A. 2nd-3rd promote to Group B. 4th-8th remain in Group C. 9th-10th relegate to Group D.

Group D:
8 players. 1st super-promotes to Group B. 2nd-3rd promote to Group C. 4th-7th remain in Group D. 8th relegates to Group E.

Group E:
10 players. 1st super-promotes to Group C. 2nd-3rd promote to Group D. 4th-8th remain in Group E. 9th-10th relegate to Group F.

Group F1:
9 players. 1st super-promotes to Group D. 2nd-3rd promote to Group E. 4th-7th remain in Group F. 8th-9th relegate to Group G. (next season's expansion group)

Group F2:
10 players. 1st super-promotes to Group D. 2nd-3rd promote to Group E. 4th-7th remain in Group F. 8th-10th relegate to Group G. (next season's expansion group)

rocky1 (4-4)
mslasm (3-2)
Pantelas (3-5)

Lampião (2-5)
Gibs (2-5)
TWOLKER (1-5)
USA Biches (0-0)

Things are close in the race for League Champion in season 3. Master Bjarke leads so far, while after dropping an early game to rocky1, I've fought my way to 5-1. Our match is in progress, and looks likely to decide top spot in the group. It's a tense, even affair, with neither of us controlling any bonuses at any point in the game to date. Could be a very long and drawn out game...

Meanwhile, USA Biches is continuing the reputation of playing slowly, and is yet to finish a game. Sułtan Kosmitów is probably the only other player with a genuine chance of winning the group, but once again has played too few matches to really get a good reading on.

Pantelas, Lampião, Gibs, and TWOLKER seem likely to fill the 4 relegation slots, each with 5 losses so far.

Group A update:

Master Bjarke (7-0)

Sułtan Kosmitów (5-2)
rocky1 (4-4)
mslasm (3-2)
Pantelas (3-5)
Lampião (2-6)
Gibs (2-6)
TWOLKER (1-6)
USA Biches (0-0)

Sultan is out of the top battle after loosing to me in a VERY short game decided by picks. Two looses for Sultan to me and huddyj makes him comes last in any potential tie for 1st. mslasm at 3-2 still have a theoretical chance of 1st if he wins the rest, and I lose to huddyj and USA bitches, but that sure is a lot of games to go his way. USA biches holding a more plausible chance as he have managed not to finish a single game, so hard to judge his performance. That is quite a feat with 5 games at a time on small earth , but he is a turtle after all...
In the buttom TWOLKER (1st and 2nd respectively in group A the other two seasons) surprinsingly seems to be struggling not to relegate after having only 1 win in 7 games. Bear in mind that group B have only 8 players, so I guess there may be less than 3 relegation spots from A?

Edit: Is there 4 relegations spots?

There was going to be 4 relegations, however, there may be a change now, as several players have become inactive in lower groups. I'll have another look at the P/R soon. The main reason for the high number of relegations in Group A is that there needs to be room for 3 promotions from Group B and a super-promotion from Group C. (Group A obviously has no promotions, so the room is made through additional relegations)

You have 3 undefeated players in your group, too, so that match will be pivotal in determining who finishes on top and gets the double promotion.

Group B update: (I'll work through all the groups as I have time)

PanagiotisTheGreekFreak (4-2)
Kevin Turner (4-2)
Buns157 (4-2)
kirdol (4-3)
slejer (3-0)
Dacian Novac (2-4)
KingNorbs (2-5)
slydog384 (1-6)

slejer just needs to keep winning, and he'll take out top in this group. Panagiotis, Kevin Turner, and Buns157 are tied at the top, and each still need to play slejer. Those results will prove vital for promotions. slydog will finish last, while Dacian Novac and KingNorbs will also finish in the bottom 3. kirdol unfortunately cannot finish higher than 4th, and will also miss the promotions.

Group C update:

smileyleg (6-2)

indibob (5-3)

Don (4-3)
Master Turtle (4-3)
Алексей (3-5)
Bayern München is the best! (2-6)
Diplomatic Immunity (1-1)
Slats (1-7)

smileyleg and BenSeu are in the box seat for winning this group, though there is pressure coming from those below. Алексей would have to be kicking himself after squandering his great (3-0) start with 5 boots! He may still avoid relegation, but there's no way he'll be promoting this season.

Slats is inactive and will be removed from the league, and Bayern is also pulling out at the end of the season. This means it's likely that only the bottom finisher will relegate, and I suspect that will be Diplomatic Immunity, who's only win this season was when Алексей booted. If Slats boots against him, however, Diplomatic will only need to grab 1 other win to jump above Алексей.

I wanna do Group D, huddyj. So here goes:
NB: I wanted to put myself first to make myself feel good, although it may not be the group's final result.
1- Ryzys (5-0)
2- Arkanton (5-0)
3- Rand0mPlayer (4-3)
4- Legacy (3-0)
5- Des (2-4)
6- Matt431 (1-3)
7- boorzur (1-5)
8- Platinum (dropping out, 0-6)

I finally get a winning record and a definite promotion spot after two seasons staying in Group D (bye Des! :P). But the race for first is tight, with only myself, Legacy (potentially) and Arkanton able to do it as everyone else has either lost too many games or it's just my personal opinion. boorzur is set to relegate no matter what because of Platinum. So I'll edit this paragraph and the ladder once huddyj updates the P/R situation concerning my group (I've now done so). Me and Arkanton will definitely promote, and legacy will too if he wins just one out of his last four games.

EDIT: Update

Thanks Master Bjarke and Ryzys for helping with the updates. I'll leave Groups A and D for you two to update.

Here's a very updated and rearranged P/R.

Group A:
10 players. 1st-6th remain in Group A. 7th-10th relegate to Group B.

Group B:
8 players. 1st-3rd promote to Group A. 4th-6th remain in Group B. 7th-8th relegate to Group C.

Group C:
2 players leaving this group. (10-2) = 8 players. 1st super-promotes to Group A. 2nd-3rd promote to Group B. 4th-7th remain in Group C. 8th relegates to Group D.

Group D:
1 player leaving this group. (8-1) = 7 players. 1st super-promotes to Group B. 2nd-3rd promote to Group C. 4th-6th remain in Group D. 7th relegates to Group E.

Group E:
1 player leaving this group. (10-1) = 9 players. 1st-2nd super-promote to Group C. 3rd-4th promote to Group D. 5th-7th remain in Group E. 8th-9th relegate to Group F.

Group F1:
9 players. 1st-2nd super-promote to Group D. 3rd-5th promote to Group E. 6th-9th remain in Group F. No relegations.

Group F2:
10 players. 1st-2nd super-promote to Group D. 3rd-5th promote to Group E. 6th-9th remain in Group F. 10th relegates to Group G. (next season's expansion group)

Thanks to several players pulling out/becoming inactive/not joining groups, we have a large number of spaces to fill in some of the higher groups. This means more super-promotions in the lower groups, and less relegations across all groups. However, Group A will still have 4 relegations to allow room for promotions from Groups B and C (adds to the competitive nature of the top group).
