Truncate, you're completely dodging the issue. Nobody here has said the Confederacy was good, or that it wasn't racist.

What we're saying is that at the time EVERY country was racist. Using the same logic the U.S flag represents just as much if not more racism than the C.S.A flag. The past was a very brutal place, but we can't change that, and banning symbols of the past because we're scared of it takes us nowhere.

Yes, the Confederacy was founded on white supremacy, but so was the United States. (Not as blatantly, but it was)

I'm gonna go back on topic and ask America a question:

Do people actually support Donald Trump? Have you spoken with these people? What do they say?

Thank you for getting back on topic, Pie.

Do people actually support Donald Trump?

Yes.

Have you spoken with these people?

I used to be one of them. He is a successful businessman (which is why I wanted Romney in the previous election), and despite what the media wants you to think, he's not racist. That being said, he hasn't actually given us any insight as to what he'll actually do. "I will make America great again!" That's great! How? "[insert extremely bareboned general statement here]"

What do they say?

They say he is a successful businessman, says what he has on his mind (he doesn't pussyfoot around), and acknowledges problems fully and doesn't try being all PC about shit.

All of this is true, but he hasn't yet explained what he is actually going to do.

In my not so humble or respectful opinion, Trump will pretty much ruin the country.

This isn't fucking monopoly.

Do people actually support Donald Trump?

Quite a few. I'm not one of them, but I fully understand the appeal.

Have you spoken with these people? What do they say?

Darth Darth Binks summed it up pretty well. He's a successful businessman, so people think he'll be good for the economy. He also appeals to a lot of people because he's not politically correct in the slightest and says exactly what he means.

I don't support Trump. I know very few people who will say that they support him, and several who are vocal (including conservatives) about disliking him.

The reasons people have given me for supporting him:
A. He's a businessman
B. He's not a politician
C. He doesn't mince words
D. They believe he'll be tough on foreign policy/terrorism
E. There isn't another candidate that they like better

Do people in US know other languages than English? (learnt, not native)

What do people think about having colonies around the world?

Do people prefer the pure Capitalist system, or the EU system? (free healthcare, education, etc)

I'm glad to see the questions rolling in :)

How many parents believe they should be allowed to hit kids?

If you mean smack them on the rump, then many.

Is the divorce rate as high as shown in the media?

The divorce rate is depressingly high, yes.

Do people in US know other languages than English? (learnt, not native)

Well, in my school, we are able to learn Spanish, French, and German (I took German). So a good percent of us have learned a second language. The hard part is remembering it after you graduate.

What do people think about having colonies around the world?

That's a good question. I don't know; it's never been a topic we talk about.

Do people prefer the pure Capitalist system, or the EU system? (free healthcare, education, etc)

Oh, we want free healthcare and education. I think we want free education more, and at least affordable healthcare.

How many parents believe they should be allowed to hit kids?

Very few believe in actually beating their kids. As for spanking, there's still a sizable amount who say it's okay.

Is the divorce rate as high as shown in the media?

Yes, the divorce rate is through the roof.

Do people in US know other languages than English?

The education system has made a half-hearted attempted to force people into learning a second language, by only a small fraction actually remember anything after taking foreign language classes.

What do people think about having colonies around the world?

It's rarely discussed, but most people are pretty neutral about the U.K,France,Spain,etc. still holding on to a few islands.

Do people prefer the pure Capitalist system, or the EU system?

Many are still hardcore Capitalist, but there's a growing shift of people who want free education and healthcare.

Then, why do the US bipartidism ignore it? I think Democrats could get a bunch of votes if they promised to do it.

U.K,France,Spain,etc. still holding on to a few islands.

Spain doesn't (Canary Islands is a fully integrated community, as if you say Alaska) but it is true UK, France, and Netherlands also own some of them yet.

If education is free, where will the money from professors come from, and who will fund the colleges? This one question spawns a whole chain of problems.

Yes.
Have you spoken with these people?

One, very very breifly.
What do they say?

"He'll make America succeed because of his business success."
How many parents believe they should be allowed to hit kids?

Not many still beat children, but still spank them.
Is the divorce rate as high as shown in the media?

I don't know.
Do people in US know other languages than English?

Of course, but it's not a necessity, or common.
What do people think about having colonies around the world?

I don't think many people know or care.
Do people prefer the pure Capitalist system, or the EU system? (free healthcare, education, etc)

I believe it's capitalist because of this quote, but it's a many different ideas in this nation. "Liberals want everything given to them."
