Hey guys, just wanted to clear the air a little bit. First off, I take full blame for this (no anger needs to be directed at PC or QB as I didn't exactly alert them to the settings beforehand). I used a modified version of one of Pooncrew's templates to create this game, but I added the card thing as a way of increasing the challenge (so I could attract players with higher skill), since Fizzer won't let us have 1 minute auto boot. I thought this game would appeal to players who were up for a speed challenge. I really didn't mean anything malicious by it, and before ESP here, I didn't hear any complaints about the settings, presumably because other players saw what I was going for and accepted the challenge.

I won't apologize for booting people because that's the booted player's fault. And while I still think it's every player's responsibility to check settings before joining a game, I'll be sure to put "speed challenge" or something like that in my titles if I use this template again.

So again, sorry for any confusion and hostility I caused. But please, like I said, direct that anger at me and not at my clan or my teammates. They don't deserve it.

@Tabby all of our multi day games are 3 day boots except for our internal p/r league which has 2 day boots.

also like DBJ said, this was his template, we generally play our real time games with only airlift and gift cards. So his settings don't reflect "poon style" anyway

I frankly don't care much about this, because the Poons are quite unskilled as it is. Having them on my blacklist would lower my win rates, because I host real games lmao

Sidious I don't see what you're getting at, everyone knows we have been using 3 day boots for months (with the exception of the occasional speed game, where we always make it abundantly clear that we're playing faster than normal).

im not accusing anyone of cheating. if that's the message i conveyed then i am sorry. regardless, settings like these, if not point/stat farming or trolling, are incredibly non-conducive to actual strategic play. if this is how you have fun, more power to you. it makes absolutely no sense to me, but what do i know?

my main point still remains, if you do not have any sense of good sportsmanship, then i don't want to play games with you. seeing how fast you can commit is not a good game in my opinion, and im not really convinced that your motivation is to actually compete with people in a game like this. i think you would have to be incredibly uninformed about how warlight and the internet works to think that this game offered any amount of competition to anybody. fast games are one thing, but when boot time is one minute and you need to shorten it more, you are no longer talking about making quick decisions, but who has quicker internet and a computer strong enough to process the next turn (let alone the insane amount of discards) in time.

this RT game with a one minute boot was created 2015/11/29 16:59:51 and didn't start until roughly 2015/11/30 12:40:23, more than 12 hours later.

there is really no explanation that i can accept for something like this. the chat doesn't really make you seem like very attractive people either:

I agree with shyb's summary and analysis. It's dishonest at *best*. In a word: Lame. In two words: Lame ass.

What's fascinating to me is that all three of them showed up trying to defend and/or explain this game like words could somehow change the reality. If you were concerned with doing the right thing, you would need to give each of those booted players a win. (feel free to post the gamelinks here when you do)

Pooncrew and Queefballs were "unaware" of the settings? If I realized that one of my clanmates involved me in an unethical game, it would end by VTE or that clanmate would be unceremoniously thrown out of the clan.

Well, who cares what I think? Point is, if a person wants respect from the community, they cannot involve themselves in these unethical situations.

I propose a name for this ... distasteful practice: Boot Licking.

As you know i am not a regular poster in warlight forum and i didn't know the special feelings the community has with these bastards. I thought i made a discovery but now i see they are already very well known xD

Poon Squad was actually my first clan. I left in a couple days after joining because I saw what they did. They are the scum of the game. Everybody knows it. just stop joining their games and/or blacklist them. Or if you really wanna be heroic join their games and warn everybody about what's about to happens everyone leaves. Or stay and beat them and ruin their farm.

I did the 3 of them in this game :D I won them playing with 2 noobs. They can't win if they don't boot. Incredible. Pathetic.
