Read the amendment again!! The guns are not supposed to be well-regulated, the militia has to be well-regulated. That is a huge difference.

but as you just said it is the people that are the militia so the well regulated does apply to the people buying the guns

ok i will accept that definition: yes the populace is well armed, but are they well trained? definitely not

its written in the constitution that the people bearing arms should be well trained so if you want to follow the laws of your country make people go through training before giving them a gun

When they say a "well-regulated militia" I believe (according to Anti-Federalist political policy) that they were referring to state controlled militias. As in each state would organized and determine the training requirements for their militia. But no where in the constitution is the Federal Government given explicit authority to regulate guns.
