I'm in school to be a music teacher, so everything I do involves music :D Always love when I see a thread like this.

Hope you enjoy!

If anyone actually listens to all of this, I give you props. Really great stuff here, imho. If you have questions about anything or comments about pieces I would love to talk about them.

(Edit: Does anyone know why it makes every other link a clicky link? I wanted them all to be.)

Noobschool, you need to put an extra space character at the end of each of your links. Forum bug.

But from the ones I could click: Doreen Ketchens - holy shit! Blew me away! And the percussion stuff is freaking awesome. I've always liked that kind of stuff but haven't listened to much, mostly Evelyn Glennie and stuff on the Bang On A Can label. In particular I *really* enjoyed 8 on Three and 9 on Two.

Chicken, I'd like (most) french house a lot better if it didn't rely so much on the sidechain. Lately I've been on a bit of an italodisco kick: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h2KvpPUFIlk

Old McDonald Had a Deformed Farm - sounds like the warlight forums!

Mnozil Brass - Very funny performance art! (Talented musicians too)

LIgNEouS 1 for Marimba and String Quartet by Andy Akiho - really like this one. I've always enjoyed string quartets, especially when playing more aggressive, experimental music. And I really enjoy the marimba in this, sounds like a washboard at times!

I've never seen or heard of the Hang until now, I really like the sound, but I'd kind of wish it to be played in a less, erm, new-agey way, heh

The last one is also really impressive... finger drumming!

I remember back when I was a college radio DJ playing a few outstanding percussion albums, but I wish I remembered exactly what it was that I played, lol... Ah well.

Who doesn't love a taste of Japan?

Not the best recording: L'Arc-en-Ciel's - 'Driver's High'
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IqoTa6Huzv0

A little catchy prog-funk... Why not? Casiopea's - 'Galactic Funk'
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AKgjOCuW_MU

A nice soothing number: From FFIX - 'The Place I'll Return To Someday'
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r4-D2kWOc2U

Absolute classic. Never fails to get me all nostalgic about the 'good old days'.
Manga VHS Opening Music - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eCfDxZxTBW4

From another anime, wonderfully different: Yousei Teikoku's - 'Kokou no Sousei'
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WROcJK3ZHGc

Edit: Almost forgot. The most catchy tune known to man(That leak is quite something too!). Try to get it out of your head. It cannot be anything but the vocaloid take on 'Ievan Polkka' - Hatsune Miku
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kbbA9BhCTko

Is this unhealthy?

Just a few japanese songs who comes to mind :

Logic System - Clash
Early japanese electronic music. (1981)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ft5o-FKQ3ug

Osamu Kitajima - Taiyo
Some kind of mix of folk music with 70's progressive rock.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GQUTzIYhXfc

Ubar Tmar - Cosmo Drome

I would consider Ubar Tmar as the Spearhead of the japanese psytrance scene. Selected track isn't as fancy/mad as his very first releases but still a great one for those who enjoy this sort of music.

Many of my links were Japanese. :/ It's not all animu and pop you know.

Well... I guess this might be my favorite animu song ever: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5IMhIShjcYU

Psy, *love* your links! Wow! (Well the first two anyway, third is kinda generic but lovely all the same)

Some more Japan:

The track of Yoshinori Sunahara sounds like a vintage porn soundtrack.
Do not get me wrong, this is not a criticism.
