This is like saying that abolitionists "wanted to control your right to hold slaves" by abolishing slavery. And yes, this was actually an argument used by democrat opponents of abolition.

US law is rife not only with examples of things you have the right to do, but also moral evils you have the right to be free from ever having to experience. Viewing "Freedom" as only applying to the former is narrow-minded, and frankly doesn't make much sense.

Personally, I think the slavery comparison works better in the case of abortion because there's actually a second party being directly hurt/killed. Those in favor of it state their "Right" to do it because their victims aren't "truly human".

Still though, very sound logic.

I agree it does apply a lot more to abortion in that sense, but the concept applies to practically any modern "Social Justice" issue. Just swap out the quote at the top of the post for any quote from some jackass(pun intended) democrat.

It doesn't matter what party you're apart of this point. It's the 1% vs the 99% quite literally.
