Not bad the video, I liked it. But I think he misses the point of the Last Week Tonight video. Oliver is just hitting Trump using his own methods, bullying him.

I think it's probably the only way to get him right now. Debate after debate, day after day, he bullies the other candidates, the media, even some people on his own crowds. And that's what those people want. A big strong bully to defend them against the establishment.

They don't care about the truth, they do in fact just want to show a sign to Washington. Well, John is sending one to them, by ridicularising their idol. Seems it's more effective then all the news trashtalking and then pathetic debate couple Rubio/Cruz.

You missed the point of the video. Sargon wasn't saying that being abrasive was ineffective, he was saying that Oliver doesn't understand why people like Trump and that attacking his name will have little effect.

idk, Oliver is pretty smart, and as I said, I think his video will do more damage then rubio, cruz and the mainstream media togheter. This video isn't just about fighting trump supporters, but also about helping to increase the awareness of his show with a polemic and strong video. He's still building his way to become a great comedian. I also doubt his video will increase trump supporters as Sargon suggested.

The verb you're looking for is not 'refute', it is 'disagree with'. Nothing he said refuted anything Oliver said. He just disagrees with Oliver's tactic.

I agree with TeamGuns, Oliver was just out-Trumping Trump. He brought up the name thing because Trump brought up Jon Stewart's name. He's pointing out Trump's cheapness and hypocrisy.

Stewart changed his name because he wanted to appeal to a wider audience, the Dumpf famly changed their name due to prejudice against germans after ww2. Theres no hypocrisy they're 2 entirely different situations. wct you missed the point of sargons' video and he dd refute Oliver. Oliver believes that bashing Trump will work for him because it worked for Trump. Thats an idiotic assumption and he doesn't understand why people support Trump. People don't like Trump because he bashes people. People like Trump because he is a political outsider thats why a lot of republican candidates have been trying to appear as if they're political outsiders as well. That refutes Olivers' point that bashing people will be an effective tactic. Attacking Trump hasn't worked for any of the other candidates and there have been polls that show most people who support Trump support him because hes an outsider.

Throwing away your vote would be not voting. I would much rather have a say in what corrupt idiot I will have as president in the next 4 years than not vote. Seriously, there's no reason to not vote; in fact, the government loves it when people don't vote. If you don't want to cast your vote in for Trump or Hillary, then vote third party.

Pathetic? Did you even watch any of the last debate? Trump looked more flustered than he ever had in any of the previous debates. Rubio and Cruz targeting Trump is a good strategy and I think they revealed a weakness.

Trump was all in control when there was a ten candidate free for all and he could just bully Jeb Bush around the entire time. But now that he has just a few strong opponents focusing fire on him he's not quite as sure how to handle it.

In reality this race would look a lot different if Kasich and Carson got out. Cruz would collect a lot of Carson votes and Rubio would collect a lot of Kasich votes.

Seriously, there's no reason to not vote;

Some political scientists see not voting as a vote of no confidence in the government at large. This is why we need a ballot option for voting that says "None" or "No Vote".

I don't think it's that, but it's a funny thing that can be a catchphrase. It's not meant to legitimately battle "Drumpf", but just as a funny thing watchers can say to other folk to make them laugh at his hypocrisy. This is not a show to do something, this is a show to inform folk in a funny way.

He is proud of his heritage, and he's not going to get much prejudice today for a name that sounds a bit German. The only difference here is, Trump keeps his fake name, other mate takes a fake name.

Actually it works. You can't beat Trump on the issues, republican candidates have already tried that, voters don't care. The most important reason why they are voting for him is because of his character. Destroy his character and he goes down.

^Except a character attack of Trump is a double-edged sword because it has the effect of bringing the candidate attacking Trump down to mud-slinging, and when you mud-sling you tend to come out of it with dirt on your suit.
