I do know what value investing is! The challenge with it is trying to determine, with limited info, whether it is truly an undervalued stock or whether its downward trend would continue.

I do indeed have an investing 'strategy'. Play for long-term growth and, for now, focus on index funds over individual stocks. We'll see if it pays off.

u calculate the intrinsic value and compare it to the market price

ive struggled with calculating intrinsic value but i find it relatively easy to do now

index fund is a nice strategy. it not good for me because you pretty much get market returns

it still possible to do it. i can cite u a bunch of investors that has consistently beaten the market

in fact u can still take the index fund approach and still beat the market. for instance getting a basket of net nets or having a basket of magic formula stocks etc. just requires a little more effort then usual

regardless your approach is fine. as long u stick and persist with it

Halfway through today's market times, and it's looking rough for everyone!

All portfolios are sliding. Falconguy, yesterday's previous leader, is down -1.99%. GeneralPE is down -2.65% after going all in on Polaris Industries. Forbidden Assets, meanwhile is down -0.98%, leading the pack only by minimizing losses for today. By total value however, Falconguy is still solidly ahead at $3923.81. With three hours to go, there doesn't seem to be much chance of a turnaround, with all investors in the red.

The week ends with GeneralPE at -2.09%, Falconguy at -1.62% and Forbidden Assets at -0.55%. FORBASS will be depositing another $145.32 within the beginning of next week.

FK again drops, but this time only a by paltry -0.07%, -$2.52. Total remaining at $3718.27.


GeneralPE has yet another rough day, falling -$78 to $3,823.50.

Falconguy has the roughest day yet for any investor, dropping a total of -$92.30, down to $3808.91.

Interestingly, Forbidden's portfolio has yet to give any high-yielding days since this post began tracking it, but it has managed to ride out the worst days better than the other portfolios. It remains to be seen whether that will pay off in the long term.
