I am not alone in viewing reproduction as a right. That you do not is no great surprise. The
universal declaration of human rights gives a fair idea of the aspirations of the greater part of the human race, and explicitly makes mention of the desire to secure the right to reproduction.
If you so wish you may listen to a reading of that declaration by Elanor Roosevelt the wife of Franklin Delano Roosevelt.
http://www.unmultimedia.org/avlibrary/asset/C100/C1007/The full text of the
universal declaration of human rights is also available.
http://www.un.org/en/universal-declaration-human-rights/index.htmlA relevant passage reads as follows:
Article 16.
(1) Men and women of full age, without any limitation due to race, nationality or religion, have the right to marry and to found a family. They are entitled to equal rights as to marriage, during marriage and at its dissolution.
(2) Marriage shall be entered into only with the free and full consent of the intending spouses.
(3) The family is the natural and fundamental group unit of society and is entitled to protection by society and the State.
Not withstanding the possibility that it will be obnoxious to you, you might find it of interest to read or listen to the declaration.
I echo the first article when I assert that
All human beings are born free and equal in dignity and rights. They are endowed with reason and conscience and should act towards one another in a spirit of brotherhood. I hope that you may one day come to share that notion with me.
