i saw this map and i really liked the way it was different to a lot of others, mostly the way the middle asteroid was the only way to move between planets

i had a great idea for a customer scenario tournament based around this idea so went to set up a test run and......

..... the map has changed and no longer works this way :(

is there any way to play games on old versions of maps or once the creater changes them are they gone forever?

i agree i really liked that idea. I think we can only ask the map creator to upload the original map.

Originally each asteroid connected to every port on every planet, and the only way to traverse planets was through an asteroid.

In the updated version, the asteroids are just a regular bonus that acts sort of like a choke-point, however certain ports connect directly to other ports now.

They're talking about the difference between [first](http://warlight.net/SinglePlayer.aspx?PreviewMap=9838) and [current](http://warlight.net/SinglePlayer.aspx?PreviewMap=10101) versions of the map.

Are you going to make big bonuses for the individual planets?

I wouldn't wanna play the current version of the map. it's nothing special now without these asteroids.

so please upload the old map again. it was fun to play

I actually sent a request so that the planets could attack each other from other areas (not just the asteroids). I believe that the old map could be unfair given one planet is 2x times the size of the others and grants 2x times the bonus. If one player or a team held the large planet, it'd be no contest. They'd easily hold the asteroids with little trouble from the other players...

Heck, if one player with enough armies took the asteroids no one could have a chance of moving around. With the new map, all players have a chance to move planet to planet. It's much better than the first.

Perhaps if the first had had equal planets (bonus wise) it've been better...

All in all the changes are for the better and have made the map better.

There were 11 asteroids, each of which connected to every port on every planet, but not to each other - There's no way one team could defend every single asteroid, unless he had enough income to dominate anyway.

I don't think the game was designed as a planet v planet battlezone.

I thought the old map had the asteroids interconnected? Even so, with that set up most if not all of the fighting would be on the asteroids and the territories they bordered. Gameplay would consist of Kamikaze rushes to bust into other player's territory and do as much damage as possible... I find very little strategy in a slugfest centered on only a few territories.

@Cthulhu. i Think maybe if you had 3 teams starting on different plants then yes there would be a rush to secure the asteroids but as franco said the map wasnt designed for like that and i certainly havent experienced a rush for the centre in the game i am playing

my personal opinion is that it gives a nice difference to the standard style a map works, and i think this can only be a good thing.

After all variety is the spice of life :)

i prefer the new one in the old one when we got the asteriods we charged in to the enemy post and trolled them while trying to secure the asteriods utter mess also this idea only works on 2 team games or 1v1

There is a wrong connection in the map. Bez4 is connected to Bez1. This isn't a good one and wierd, since they look disconnected in the first place and you are able to get the whole bonus from Bez4. It is a very fun map to play though.
