Arun, stop this nonsense. Besides the only alt you were pointing at is DarkVengeance, which as far as I know is not controlled by gnuffone anymore but i admit - am not sure about that.

Despite his immense cheating, he gets away with all his achievements on an apparently clean record (if you look at his profile). What is nonsense is letting this happen.

Arun, it's in the past; it's over and done with. Gnuffone will forever be known as a great player and the biggest cheater on warlight. As Fridge said, he did this for his repuatation and his goal was to be known as the ultimate best. Now, hardly anyone considers him that becuase of all the stuff that has come out. He has faced punishment from this loss of reputation; I'm not against a permaban now for him, but I think it would make little difference.

Little difference to Gnuffones main account, but a potentially huge difference for future cheaters (precedent should not be set to entertain the idea of letting cheaters get away with it).

im with Arun, i think you cant let get him away with it because you allow everyone to cheat. It's not in the past and it just came out a few weeks ago ( i read it then on the forums) and it is still going on. The problem is that he had a huge effect on many players and even clans. It is not that he just cheated with a little thing. So JSA maby you think it is in the past and it is over and done. For many others it isn't and they want justice. So i dont think you can talk here like this because first you where not a victum, you had even benefit from it in the 20A league if im right? and 2nd if you don't do anything about this you just say everyone can cheat because the only damage is if you get caught that you will loose some reputation. in 1 year many players dont even know what happend and his reputation is like it before. You just can't let him walk away with this if so we all have a free pass to cheat in ladder games, etc

Funny enough, I don't know many players with the connections (passwords to other accounts) or time (because they spend theirs doing something else called living) to cheat to the extent that Gnuffles did.

The one thing Gnuff cared about on WL the most was his reputation and that tanked when word got out about his dirty little secrets. He lost a number of friends (or at least their trust), was exposed as a liar, etc, so a permaban isn't necessary at this point, imo.

Also, if anyone should learn something from this it's this: don't share your password. Sirius learned that the hard way as well, for those who remember ;)

Angry Beavers, you are clueless about the warlight community if you think everyone will forget about him in one year. The Impaller is still a legend. Gnuffone's scandal will go down in history. Most of that effect to clans was just to [GG]. He didn't hurt any other clans that I am aware of. Yeah, he's a cheater, and you aren't gonna hear me arguing that. If you want him banned, do something about it. Don't just complain about it in the forums; report him. I already said I am not against banning him; I just don't think it is a big deal.

When the original topic appeared, I did have a short in-game chat about it with Fizzer, just asking his opinion with link to some strong accusations in the topic. However, I personally did not (and could not) report Gnuffone as this should be done be the people in the topic who posted these accusations.

Consequently, IF Gnuffoe was not banned, it means nobody reported him. Looking at the reactions in this original topic, I have the feeling that the people who could do this, all had reasons not to do this. If there is no report, I personally don't see why Fizzer should spend his time on doing his own investigation instead of continue working on the site?

So maybe a better question than "should he be banned", is rather "did anyone report him"?

I like gnuffone despite the cheating. I never really thought he bragged as much as others are claiming. I have seen other people on this game being a lot more full of themselves then him atleast. And truth be said i don't really care if he gets banned or not, although i can understand why it could upset some folks when he does come back and play a few rounds. And lets be honest here, he _will_ come back, even if he is in denial to himself about it right now. As soon as he gets proper internet connection on wherever he is right now he will pop around and end up playing some games, just like he did last week.

But thinking about the whole ban thing, a "banned for cheating" sticker all over the profile of whoever gets caught would sure be nice to remind people that it's wrong and not acceptable behavior. Sure they'll just create new accounts or use an alt anyways, but that account they spent so long time building up the stats would be forever tainted because of their silly cheating.

Something like:

Also, someone was mentioning what harm was done to the clans apart from to GG? WM itself.

I disagree about him harming WM. Yes, they were harmed by his cheating. But I think in the long run, he has done them more good than bad. I am not sure [WM] would even exist right now without him. He kinda took over as leader when Anonymous was somewhat inactive and when it looked as if the [WM] clan might die. Now, the clan is in a bad situation, but I think it is better than before he joined.

Math Wolf, why reference talking to Fizzer and asking his opinion and then nor providing his responses? Seems rather pointless to bring it up but not provide any actual information

Arun I don't know what your problem with Gnuffone is, but ever since he retired I must have seen you bash him on the forum multiple times. Is it because you're jealous of the number of his achievements and the fact that you have none? What I do know however, was that you too, were cheating by making 1 min boot games and booting people to farm wins not very long ago. Do you deserve to be bashed for that? Yes. Did you get bashed for that? No. Stop being so pathetic.

Sure, he cheated. Shame on him for that. But in spite of all the arrogance you guys all accuse him of, he has humbly come out and apologised. Will banning him do anything more but revenge? No. Does he deserve a second chance? Thats up to you. I can understand why the GG playesr would be angry and I sympathise with them, but now he has done wrong, he has apologised. This is just a game after all.

I like how Gnuffone makes an apology thread, and it results in people wanting him banned XD. I'm not saying that banning him is wrong, I just find this whole thing ironic

Jehovah, I gamed the system to gain points quickly to unlock every new feature. I did not gain any any achievements for it. Letting him get away with it is ridiculous. Referring back to my previous metaphor; if a criminal says they repent, do they walk free?

1) currently i don't have internet from monday to friday, but occasionally i get it when i am at freind's house. IF i come back to my house during weekend, ofc i have internet; if i don't come back i can't have it.
2) Dark Vengeance or whatever is his name now is not a my account at 100%. Another player is using that, and in realtime ladder i use it only for 4 games (sze hedja + other 2).
3) If is the problem is my stats, i can hide it, it's not a problem for me.
4) TWM mentioned i think was referring before you write in the bye thread all 200 message.
(if is not in this way, pls TWM message me with what you were reffering, just curios)

Arun - stop acting like a highschool bully. You are being ridiculous comparing an internet game cheater to a rapist, or a serial murderer. This whole forum's exactly as one journalist wrote the other day - nothing more than facebook for sociopaths. You are only proving him right.. It's just a game. Relax, get over it and mind your own shit instead of whining about whatever he did that at no point concerned neither you nor your clan.

edit:

Arun - i'm not saying your behaviour is anywhere near to his, cause it isn't. But for the record - it doesn't matter if you gained "an achievement" or not. You gained SOMETHING by shady behaviour. Sorry but booting to win deserves mass-blacklist at least. Especially if you made short-boottime games to purposedly pull it off.

JSA - WM is doing fine. We are strong, and we are active. There was a recession about a year ago, but it's survival had not much to do with Gnu. There were few involved players, similar to current situation, where I am the one organizing most things related to WM since Red is no longer active. And some players retired from WL. Gnu's done a lot for WM, but at the same time he blocked the clan from aquiring new players for a long time, which was one of the reasons it shrunk big time. (most people who wanted to join were not good enough in gnu's eyes - most of the time we agreed with gnu, but there were a few players which did show potential, and looking back I do regret we did not let those in)
