So there's this little blue mouse
And this blue mouse is eating green cheese
The green cheese smells like fish
But apparently it tastes great to the mouse

The mouse gets on his yellow boat
The yellow boat sails across the purple water
The mouse was on his way to Silver City
Silver City was the third largest city in the country

Ahoy! said the mouse
Of course the mouse carried a weapon on his way
It was an ivory sword
It was forged from a blacksmith up in a brown tree

Argh! the mouse heard this
And turned his head
Oh no! it was the 'Teal Pirats'
They weren't too close, but close enough

The mouse grabbed his mahogany paddle
Then he started paddling as fast as he could
There were so many rumors about the teal pirats
The mouse saw the port and turned back to see the pirats were gone

And so the blue mouse will make it safely

Is there a theme to this? (theme is the main point that the author tries to bring across with the story)

You expect me to read this shit? High effort, low yield. Take it to reddit; and I say this as a piece of friendly advice.

How are themes pretentious?

Just in case, I do know not all stories have a theme, but some do.

Definition of Pretentious
attempting to impress by affecting greater importance, talent, culture, etc., than is actually possessed

The most common type of themes are love, death, good vs evil, blah blah blah

Writing excessively to just get a point across pretty much seems like the definition of pretentious

Stop trying to put me in a box

Ohh, that's what you meant by pretentious. In that case I think that word sums up humanity, noting that when I say humanity I include both of us.

stop trying to put me in a box
Didn't you complain about me using figurative language before? Anyway, what does that phrase "put me in a box" mean?

I said don't use figurative language in technical writing, when trying to prove something factual
If we're talking about figurative language, don't you think we will use figurative langauge

So where do you draw the line between "figurative" and "factual"?

Yes, but where so you place it?
You should know different people actually think differently, it's not just different knowledge and ability and such.

How do you expect me to analyze every single possible combination

This is like people coming up with genders

It's based loosely on the real world, but it's fundamentally made-up
Language is made up, you just can't define things like this
Because you're using language itself to describe it
