What are your opinions on bumping an old thread? Is it a good or bad practice? I'm asking these questions because I've noticed many old threads being bumped recently, being met with generally negative comments afterward. Though I have never bumped a thread and I most likely won't, I am personally fine with it. Why do some of you oppose bumping?

All depends on the thread and purpose of the comment.

Some of comments that have been met critically have been solely intended to stir up drama or bring back a divisive/contentious discussion. There is no need for this... it is simple trolling.

However, if the comment is a constructive one done in sincerity to a legitimate thread then there really should be no reason for complaint.

if someone has something to say on an old thread then why not? i dont know why others are so negative about it

Coming from someone like you, I'm surprised you're open-minded about this yet so close-minded regarding clans.

Oh, sorry, does no one have any idea what I'm referring to? What, you don't all remember every detail of that thread Komrade Karl started a couple months ago? And it's not relevant to any current discussions anymore? Huh. Weird. I, personally, thought it was relevant. And since what I find relevant should be relevant everybody, I thought I'd bring it up like we're all still involved in that conversation. I can't imagine that would be confusing for anyone.

If it actually helps to have content from old posts, then bump. Most times I think bumping is just confusing, but sometimes having those old posts help

I can see you hate me, so if you want me to hate you back, I will. Firstly, I became active in the forums not months ago, rather weeks ago (8/29). Secondly, a man can't have two sides, can't they? Most people are open and close-minded on something, and additionally, you didn't even answer the question. Irrelevant posts are for arguments, which you may be trying to stir up, and for "spam" threads.

Moreover, I agree that I may be close-minded about clans, but you put it in a tone that implies that I hate clans. I do not hate clans; most people on the forums are well-meaning people who just so be from clans. Let's make my stand on clans crystal-clear: I am suspicious toward clans with bad intentions. And don't you dare ask me which ones they are, you KNOW them.

Additionally, did you make that post just to sling mud at me? I'll be glad to do the same back at you, if you wish me to do so. I know that I have adopted a trollish reputation in the forums, so please accept my sincere apologies. MOST people periodically troll, and there are times when such can be positive. You just need to know when to do so. Of course there are saintly people who don't troll at all, so this is not directed towards you. The ones who sporadically troll and don't admit it are the real trolls.

My age is 13 years. You would expect a 13 year old to troll, wouldn't you?
