i don't do single player for stars, i did up to crazy challenge to learn to play (europe challenge was the one i learned the most from, but it made me hate that map), and i just got frustrated with insane, it takes too long. i never really lost on it, but i usually ragequit and don't feel like continuing.
All of the turns i got were my first time, except for levels 1 and 2 that i did on kongregate where i found the game.

^I agree. The other ones are largely based on luck (being able to get the star), and I find it too boring to try over and over. Now if it had %0 luck I might.

But if you can't beat the first one in 6 turns it tells me you are not thinking very hard at all.

Hehe....look at MY win rates/stats...they are horrible, no? But, that's only because I always join other people's games instead of hiding behind the games I make to boost my win rate. I'm here to have a good time and be well known for win a good teammate and being friendly, not to be a guy who has good stats and is a jerk to everyone. Stats don't matter too much to me in my field, however I try hard to win games all the same :)

Anyway, I have no map to call my best, I am a jack-of-all-trades as I used to be and as I am. I play 4 different instruments, and the only one I am extremely good at is the Piano, which I have continued all the way until my senior year in High School (about 17 years).

My point is I don't become good at something until I have repetitively done it. Maps that I am good at are Europe (all except 1600 AD) and Asia. I consider myself good on Germany Big, but I still need practice on it.

I believe win rates ARE significant in determining skill if they play FAIRLY (you know what I mean). Many people don't play fair in this game, so the win rate's significance has been nerfed. My win rate is 44/148 which is almost 30%, which improved over the summer from 20% in June.
I have a new question: What do you believe is a GOOD overall win rate, and what category is the most accurate in determining skill?
Though I have never played duels, I think 1v1s are the most accurate. 3v3s may be good in measuring how good a team player you are (mine is exactly half). For overall, I think 90+% is unrealistic if played fairly, and somewhere around 2/3 overall win rate determines mastery (if played fairly, of course).

Yes, I think 60% win rate it's probably the best....or 80% is excellent. Over 90% is ridiculous, but probably only 50 games played equals 90% win rate.

Most of the best players have win rates in the 70% range on 1v1...Zoso, sze, etc.

Some though, like Ace Windu are below 60%...I am much better than most 55% players but it completely depends on the person...But I have never met a good plaeyr with a 1v1 win rate below 50%.

That's the advantage fo the ladder's, there you can't choose the best settings possible. Someone in the top 60/70 is an avarage-good player, someone in the top 30 is someone you should respect, someone in the top 10 should be a bit scary

i have 68% on 1v1 but i'm an appalling player... mostly stats dont matter...
and really jsa, my clan has got a few guys who has under 50% on 1v1, but i'm certain, they'll have no trouble beating you and most of the 'solid players' in your clan

i agree with that, that's why i said previously that the best way to see if a players is good ro not is to look at the ladder.... but your previous statement is still doubtfull

Find someone who can beat me who has less than a 50% win rate (new accounts not included).
if you can't it didn't happen.
jsa, you still owe me 4 challenges ;( (we're doing a best of 5).
also, the ladder is all very nice but non-members don't have access to it :(

Pulsey, you talk about how your clan is so good and stuff but you are too scared to compete in the clan league...

Warflowvet, Sorry, I've been kind of busy...I'll play the other 4 with you soon.

Falcon, I've seen you shoot up the ladders recently...Would you care for a strategic 1v1 game or two against me as well? I am always up for some friendly competition.
