Anyway what about separating the clan league in 2 leagues?
I feel that 20 clans are too much to make a decently fast league.
I think that since some clans are not formed in order to have competitive players but just friendly ones, it would be much more correct make this division...

Only problem is where do you cut it off? Whoever is the "best" clan in the lower league would have a big advantage while the "worst" clan in the upper league might really struggle. Plus dividing into divisions is subject to opinion. Only way to really decide rankings is to let everyone play everyone, even if it takes time.

Then after you have some sort of ranking, you can do divisions the next time around. Just have highest clan in lower division play lowest clan in higher division. If lower wins they swap spots. That way clans can always move up divisions.

Perhaps divisions of 4 or 5 would give clans a good way to progress up.

However, who goes where can only be determined fairly by some sort of round robin (like the one being organised here).

That is what I am saying. We need to determine an initial ranking first.

Then you could be promoted up or down divisions based on other games

Trilussa, I think 2 divisions is a good idea but it would be hard to divide the clans up...Some clans would feel cheated, even if they belong in the lower division...With one division this first time, it ensures that each clan has the same shot of winning the higher division and is completely fair.

However, Your idea is similar to Mac, except he said 4 divisions. I think we should divide into more divisions in the future, 2-3 divisions for Season 3 and as more clans are created, we slowly increase the number of divisions. The goal for future seasons will be 10-12 clans in each one if possible. But this season will have only one division.

Anyway I would at least ask to all the clan leaders what they want to do...

Infact it might be possible that some people is just aware of representing a weaker clan (just because they weren't interested in an elitist one) and so they could feel that is a better option try to play games against players of their level.
(Even if I don't think that this could work, since every one thinks that their own clan is much better than what it really is, but I think that trying won't hurt anybody)

Anyway for the clan league 3 you should write some rules for new clans that want to go for it in order to rank them properly in the various sections(writing it now seems more equal)

I don't think any clans would accept being in a lower division tbh...I might try asking them though.

I will write the rules for new entries for future seasons before Season 2 starts.

an "upper" and "lower" division would no doubt slight many clans, and anger a few. Because of this, it doesn't seem like a good idea. Multiple divisions, divided randomly each season, could be a fix to this however. At the end of the season, the top team would still be the top team, based on the points system, because points are for wins, not where you place over-all (I think).

Perhaps, as a start point, the clans could be ranked by age (though this is really a poor way of doing it).

Or maybe, each clan could submit their best player/s, and their stats could be compared to judge how the clans would be ranked. Using that ranking, you could make a few divisions of 4 and 5, where the top team gets promoted and the bottom team relegated. Even though the initial ranking isn't perfect, it will be interesting to see how it will take for the clans to work their way up, and perhaps there will be surprises. If one clan doesn't like how it works, then they don't have to play. It won't look good on them then :D

Arun, no way will we rank them by stats. If we were to rank them, I would ask some of the top guys to help me rank them, not go by stats that are very easy to change.

I dont like the idea of ranking clans to start this clan league though. It would no doubt anger some clans and I think everyone should have a fair shot at #1.

Lets go by stats, elite could be number 1. ;)
