The point is that the baseline for a woman/immigrant/old person/gay etc is much lower than the baseline for people like yourself. That is what discrimination means.

X - as a matter of fact i have been offered two of the jobs in the UK i've been trying to get, unfortunately neither of the positions met my wages goals, so for the time being i am staying here, in PL. I will come back to recruitment in a few weeks, but for now, I'm way to busy and have to sort a few things out before moving on :) Plus salary aside, i really enjoy both jobs i currently have - one because of what i do there, and the other because of who i work with.

As for political correctness, yes - I was serious. In my opinion - if somebody rejects me just because I am a pole, we would not get along at work anyways, so i'm all in for cutting the crap and letting them hire somebody else. It goes both ways. if you want to hire a sexy attendant, yeah - why not. It's, or at least should be only up to the recruiter who are they looking for. As a matter of fact - i would be more than grateful if they included a note "no Arabs, no Poles, and no Russians please" or something along those lines as apart from their, it would also respect my time, which i could spend to tweak my CV aiming for another position instead of wasting on sth i will never get..

Honesty > Political correctness

I prefer playing a game knowing all the rules, to being rejected on the same basis, but being told some pretexts and pathetic, obviously false excuses.. Different theme, same issue: Imagine a girl rejecting you saying the classic "you are to good for me". Wouldn't you rather hear "your feet smell funny and you really embarrass me with your shitty musical taste" instead? She will either reject you or the relationship would be miserable and break up anyways, so why trying to stay polite instead of being honest?

As for equality, or it's illusions - deal with it - people will never be trully equal neither in the eyes of others, nor in the reality. Equality doesn't exist, and if somebody says he treats people equally it's only partially true. He will tell different people the same things, but deep inside he will still consider his prejudice and stereotypes, while maybe - just maybe trying to balance it out with calculating it against their resumes (as far as recruitment is concerned).

Living a colorless life of labour without at least a facade of some sort of goal besides for the community as a whole. Communism is well in failing regions where you need to get up on your feet, but there is always a desire for a reward. Capitalism ; Climbing . Communism ; Walking. Whichever you prefer.
