btw - what's described as "dutchy of veneda" should be called "Dutchy of Poland" which in 1025 became "Kingdom of Poland". Venedian times are afaik dated up to 4th century..

Yeah, Poland was kingdom in this time and conquered Pomerania soon, but I dont know exactly that Pomerania was independent or part of Poland in 1000AD.

Here is a map about Venice in 1000, it write that Venice was republic in this time and have some parts of Croatia.

France conquered Tolouse and March of Spain in the 11. century but I dont know exactly that in 1000 these entities were independent or not.

This is what I found about Balkan:

Bulgarian Empire
"The new Byzantine Emperor Basil II was decisively defeated against bulgars in the battle of the Gates of Trajan in 986 and barely escaped. Five years later Samuil eliminated the Serbian state of Rascia. In 997, following the death of Roman, who was the last heir of the Krum dynasty, Samuil was proclaimed Emperor of Bulgaria. After 1001, however, the war turned in favor of the Byzantines, who in that same year captured the old capitals Pliska and Preslav, and beginning ub 1004 launched annual campaigns against Bulgaria. The Byzantines further benefited from a war between Bulgaria and the newly established Kingdom of Hungary 1003. The Byzantine victories of Spercheios and Skopje decisively weakened the Bulgarian army and, in annual campaigns, Basil methodically reduced the Bulgarian strongholds. Eventually, at the Battle of Kleidion in 1014, the Bulgarians were completely defeated."

First I gave territories from bulgars to byzantines, but I will give back from byzantines to bulgars to the point of Pliska and Preslav, and I will give Rascia to the Bulgarian Empire. Also I will give Dioclea to bulgars too because I found this:

"Jovan Vladimir (Archon of Serbs) fought to protect Duklja (Dioclea) from Bulgarian expansion, making an alliance with Byzantium; Bulgaria however conquered Doclea in 997 and took Jovan Vladimir prisoner. Jovan ruled Duklja as a vassal of the Bulgarian empire until his murder in 1016."

I found as well a good map about the borders of balkanian states with Hungary:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Gesta_hungarorum_map.jpg

And I think will add some extra size to the map in east, just to the point of Byzantine.

Poland was a Principality actually in the year 1000, it became a kindgome in exactly 1025. As for Pomerania it's really hard to say. To understand the problem you have to realise that in that time the borders weren't as clear as today and Pomeraninans were a very disorganised tribe. Poland waged and often times won wars against them, but I wouldn't say it really conquered Pomerania untill pheraps the 13th century.

I have a great idea: make a single bonus from Abodrites, Union of Veleti, and Pomerania. This represent the sovereignity of this region before the first two be parts of the Roman Empire as Billung March and Northern March, and before Pomerania be part of the Kingdom of Poland.

And make this with the baltic nations too.

Can you show a map about Poland's subregions (Silezia, Chrobatia, Mazovia)?

About bulgaria, yea thats true, I am from greece and during byzantine history in school we learned those thing, as for france, I mean smaller and more territorities, not to make it bigger..., and yes i support the idea to expand the map to contain half turkey( maybe till ankyra or pontus)

update

I made a new french territory: Champagne. Now France have 8 territories, but I can give 3 more: Toulouse (2) and Barcelona, because these are semi-indepedent vassal states in 1000. (in this case I make a 4 bonus of Leon, Castilla, Navarra, Aragon)But if I make this than 11 territories not will be too much for a single bonus?

Or should I make a smaller bonus for the french core and a bigger bonus for the empire with vassal states? (In this case Bretagne, Flanders, and maybe Normandy will be vassal too)

I think France is good now with 8 territories. But I can't see how many territories Denmark has. I hope it's more than two.
And Wales needs another territory too.
But what about Ireland? If there would be a bonus for a unified Ireland I wouldn't think that would work. A bonus with 7 territories on the edge of the map will most likely be ignored.

France: okay, now I let France as the last version

Denmark: I think too that Denmark need 3 or 4 territories. My first idea was 3 for Denmark, 4 for Sweden, 5 for Norway, but I realized that Norway was much smaller in the reality like in the original map, so now I think again the scandinavian region.

Wales: I think if Scotland has 3 territories, than the much smaller Wales needs just 2.

Ireland: I agree that a 7 bonus for Ireland is too much. Im thinking on 3 solutions: 2+2 or 2+3 or 2+2+2.

Balkan: Of course Balkan and all eastern bonuses will have more territories, just I want add some extra space in east and than will need to think again the east, this is why I waited with splitting. The next version will finish the east.

Thank for feedbacks guys, all ideas welcome.

How many of the bonuses only contain 2 territories? I counted 6. I suggest reducing this number to something like.. 4, or even better, 3. When it comes to strategic settings, we like the 2-territory 1 bonuses to be on the pathway to attack a larger bonus, or a means to border a larger bonus from more than 1 front. Wales doesn't succeed in that function. It's hard to tell from this sketch about the playability in more strategic settings, so whenever you have a test draft up in Warlight, I'd very much like to help do some tweaking, and I'm betting Gui and Szew would have more constructive responses than I would. Remember that in the end, this is a game so the end goal is something that is playable by a multitude of game-types, especially on strategic settings.

Leave the rectangle in Russia as a 1-territory bonus. Call it "The Icebox." Make it worth 10. Then this map will be the best.
