I could translate it in Dutch, but I don't think it's worth the extra bandwidth cost, since most Dutch people already speak English.

I think this is a good idea because of the following:
1) More players would join.
2) Althought most of the players do speak English, EVERYONE understands his language better than English.
3) Today everyone (espeacially those who have Internet) understand English at least at a good level, so the conversation wouldn't be problem in a public or team chat.

I didn't think of this idea like of some lingual servers, but like on most of the games, there would be an icon or tab in the corner saying on which language a game currently is and by clicking that icon/tab you could see which languages are available.

I also vuolonteir(I don't know how to spell this) to translate Warlight on Croatian :)

Naomi, i believe several of us speak our own english + english + something else (just to make you feel worst)

though I volunteered, i believe it might actually be a waste of bandwith, if such translations were to happen they should be done in strategical languages (lots of internet users and lots being unable to speak english).

also, I believe that a the translated version should give you access to the same server as the international version, the interface's language should be the only difference

Portuguese and Dutch are also important languages
Also, here are 3 slavic languages (Polish, Czech, Croatian)

If there were translators for Chinese and Russian, maybe Italian too, we would have all important languages of the world. Also, there would be even more translators for even more languages, so many users could soon have Warlight on their own language.

i can translate very well from english to french because i go to an international school, i do it a lot. It wouldn't be a problem for me to work on this if needed :)

With all due respect CROivan, but why is Dutch more important than Polish? I can understand English, Spanish, German, French, Portuguese, Russian, Chinese, Arabic and maybe even Hindi being more "important" than others. but comparing the number of polish players to dutch-speaking, i would say my mothertongue is at least of the same importance as dutch. I would dare to say Polish and Italian would be two of the most important for warlight because of how many italian and polish players are there. Hindi on the other hand though used by a great number of people, surprisingly seems not to be that important for warlight, since i don't think there are as many players from that region.

And I also would like to volunteer to translate Warlight into Polish. Having Warlight's interface and tutorials translated into different languages by native speakers would be great.

Yeah, Silly Green Men is correct. Though languages like Hindi and Spanish are spoken a lot more worldwide than languages such as Polish, but the number of Polish players vastly outnumbers the Spanish. As of yet I only know of 3 other native Spanish speakers, not saying there aren't more who stick to real-time games though.
Also how is Dutch more important than Polish? Less people speak Dutch natively, and there are many less Dutch players than Polish players, not taking into account that basically all Dutch people speak English very well.

Hedja - on the other hand people in France or Spain often speak only their native language, while in countries like Poland vast majority speaks english at least to some extent, so maybe introducing for example Arabic, Chinese, Turkish and Hindi would bring more new players to warlight. Players who don't know english that well... and i think there is a great potential..

I don`t know how many Polish players we have on this site, but we have at least 51 Dutch players that I know about (so there will probably be more)so it is not a small group. On the other hand, almost everyone of us speaks English good enough to play this without Dutch translation.

i have no idea why would you take the time and count all of them, but it's still far less than polish people as far as i know ;)

actually polish shouldnt be consdered as a priority as most of the players from poland already play here even if warlight isnt in polish, we should ask why are there so few spanish speaking players, perhaps because they cant read english well enough

Well Spanish people aren't very good at English, but most know at least some. I think it is just most Spanish people don't play on sites Warlight is on, so not many play :)
