What are you going to do with your new clan?

I've seen >40 new clans get created in GC, so curious what all these new clans are destined for. Just created for the hell of it b/c it's suddenly cheap, destined to be a 1 member clan with no specific purpose or drive (or maybe even a 0 member clan after the creator abandons it and goes back to his own previous clan), become Fahrenheit v2 (filled with inactive alts) or if there is another purpose in mind.

Curious minds want to know.

This is a good question, but I suspected that most of the players that bought a clan have never even seen a forum before in their life, so I doubt you will get much useful replies.

It seems like this $1.99 deal has created an explosion of clans created by invisible players or otherwise not very serious clans. I'd wager most of these are just for the sake of having a clan and an icon.

If Fizzer wants that, he should allow auto-kicking of level 1 accounts after 3 days, so open clans actually stay open instead of getting filled with noobs that quit WZ before they finish their first game....

l4v, you have any way to calculate the creation date of clans & # members in them?

Would be interesting to see # of clans with 0 or 1 member and list them by date.

There are plenty of "old" clans that have 0..1 members as well.

597 clans total
197 inactive clans

Assuming bought @ $14.99 each (isn't true due to coin usage, recent sale, etc):

- Total revenue from clan creation: $8949.03
- Total revenue from inactive clans: $2953.03

It's likely that for every 2-3 inactive clans, 1 new clan was created. An interesting method of preventing the already paid $15 from being recycled, but in the end still only a paltry sum. Then again, we don't know what the operating fees of WZ are, so maybe this is 6 months' worth of costs?

Well if the owner comes back, they can just reclaim and reuse it?

Besides, nothing stopping the owner from reusing a clan that has been sent to someone else.

It's just a mechanism to prevent 50-100 clans (or whatever the magic # is) existing and just being passed around, never needing to create new ones. The owner non-transferability combined with non-renamability enforces that. And a certain clan that suddenly booted all its members reminded everyone of why they don't want to run a clan they aren't the owner of. lol
