There's a real-time ladder running today using the CLOT (Custom Ladder or Tournament) framework.

This ladder isn't permanent, but instead will be running just for the next several hours. The goal of this is to test the CLOT framework and make sure it's working. Please play some games, as you're helping me test!

The ladder is open to everyone, so join today! To join, just visit http://clot-test.appspot.com/lot/5283084651986944 and click "Join" then "Proceed". You'll be invited to games within 10 minutes of joining assuming there's a suitable partner.

The settings are the same as Strategic 1v1 except on the Modified Medium Earth map. Luck is 0% when members are playing, otherwise 75% luck with non-members (this will be improved when 2.0 is released). Auto-boot is at 5 minutes.

When you're done playing, go to the same link and click "Leave."

Note that when you're invited to a game, you have 10 minutes to join it. If you don't join it or decline, you'll automatically lose within 10 minutes. (Although the ladder only checks every 10 minutes, so in reality you have between 10 and 20 minutes to join.)

Oh, I forgot to mention:

The ladder will only invite you to one game at a time. So as soon as you finish a game, you'll get another within 10 minutes assuming there's a suitable partner.

When you're done playing, it's a good idea to leave the ladder before your last game finishes to ensure you don't get another.

a reccomendation for the clot: have members only able to play other members, i think its a tad unfair for members to play with 75 percent luck settings just because they got unlucky and matched with a nonmember

That's a good idea, but the way the luck thing works is changing in 2.0 anyway, so I don't want to spend time implementing that since it'll be thrown out when 2.0 goes live.

My goal with CLOT is to make it easy for other players to add their own ladders. I'll release the source code so I don't have to make it permanent - anyone can. I'll be adding a blog post soon once all the kinks are worked out.

So I joined the ladder and it matched me in a game. My opponent declined the game and I accepted it. Now the game is sitting there on my Games tab. Should I decline this game too so that I can get back in the cycle to get matched again?

So a ppl like me, that don't know nothing about java php pascal etc, will be able to make easily his own CLOT?

You should join the game. 10 minutes after it's created, it will count as a win for you, since your opponent declined.

I could improve it so it gets rid of the game faster but right now there's no way to avoid the 10 minute wait if your opponent declines or fails to join.

If you decline yourself, the ladder won't know who caused the decline so it might come out as a loss for you. That's why you should always join the games it creates.

Just made a small update. The display highlights green everyone who's currently playing, and it also displays the number of wins they have.

I know this is just meant to be a test, but is there a score involved? or is it just on number of wins?

I know that normal people probably wouldn't have done this, but I think me and Seahawks broke something by being curious and voting to end. :3

Not getting my second game and it isn't updating with my victory.

i declined against seahawks and then left the ladder, now i come back and it says i won that game.

yeah, i declined that game as well because it wasnt disapearing from my game list, turns out if i had waited ten minutes i woul dhave gotten the win
