The annoying thing is, even though non-members can make 24 diplos by leveling up, they still choose to make games, pleading with high-leveled players to create one for them.

How are we screwed if non-members can make diplomacies? That is just ridicoules to think and I see no reason for it to be a problem they should have all rights to have fun and make their own game, but unfortunately people in this world do not appreciate equality in this world fearing people will make problems just like peoples' fear of immigration.

A couple of pointers:
1. Always check the settings, this is mentioned in Warlight tips, it almost qualifies as commonsense.
2. People have always created farm games, it's only picked up now because, as you mentioned, players wanna level up faster, particularly veterans and members who feel that new updates have pushed them down a notch. This is understandable, although those players who are overdoing it are getting a lot of bad rep, hedja is a good example of this ^^

That aside, die-hard players won't give up just because of a few inconveniences, they'll just wait until new updates come out or they'll work around the problems to keep good quality games going. Clans (also mentioned) are particularly useful for this. That being said, the new updates have allowed a series of amazing game concepts to come out, my old account is playing in one of Bakarin's new games which is pretty interesting. With ads bringing in new revenue and Warlight getting more PR it's unlikely that Fizzer is gonna call it quits a few weeks after 2.0 comes out, he doesn't strike me as the give-up-at-first-sign-of-trouble kinda guy.

Diplo games can actually be fun, but I personally only join practice games since stats are of some importance when joining certain "prestigious" clans and my chances of winning a 15+ diplo game are...less than favourable, regardless of how good you are :P

Anyways, that's my 2 cents worth.

Your predictions are very pessimistic the worst thing 2.0 could do is turn warlight into a farming to level game and that only serves to make fizzer richer due to the adverts in this farming games. This is the nature of advert games and fizzer will win either ways.

also the problem with many people having the ability to make 24 dipo games is because there will be so many of those games and none of them will be filled

I can deal with all the stupid open games. What I cannot stand is the tournaments that NEVER fill because people do not clean up their invite lists and you can't invite anybody else to a tournament. Then they don't have autoboot on either so it takes forever to progress.

Having invite lists added to automatically (with anyone you play with) is a HORRIBLE idea IMO. I get why it was done (to build a network of who you played with), but in practice it ruins tournaments by filling invites with inactive players.

Every few months I totally clear my invite list. Every few weeks I use a bulk removal tool (at twenty days). My invite list is currently at 970 people though (I peaked at a LOT higher before).

970? Do you have auto add option on?

Why would people have 970 players on their invite list? Mine is 100 (odd, but it is exactly that). And some of them are simply for clan challenges, nations cup, etc. I will remove some of those after they finish.

Arun, you do know you can set you invite list to manual, so people are only added to it if you add them... Would save you a lot of time.

Wouldn't save me a lot of time - I'd have to add people whenever I make a tourney or something. I'm happy with my system.

Uhg, you are part of the problem then Arun. Adding people automatically is why all these tournaments are held up so much.

What is the point of auto adding? Why not just use open seats/tournaments if you don't care who joins? That is the reason to use a manual list, you have control over what people you want to play with regularly. I just don't understand why someone would make a tournament with forward invites only, then forward to an auto list. You are making a tournament with controls, then taking away all control.

That goes for joining a tournament and then forwarding invites to your auto list too. Obviously the maker of the tournament wanted some control over the invites. When you forward to your auto list, you just undid all that control and sabotaged their tournament.

My system ensures no inactive people are invited. Also, I don't just invite my entire list everytime...

So you sift through 970 names to invite certain ones? Again, I don't see any use to the auto add option at all.

And most people that use auto add (to invite list) will never clean up their list. Just because you might doesn't mean it isn't a huge issue overall.
