No thanks, I've already been stood up by the Greeks twice.
First, Nations Cup. Then Forsaken.

There's an old saying in Tennessee - I know it's in Texas, probably in Tennessee - that says, fool me once, shame on - shame on you. Fool me - you can't get fooled again.

@Rak: First of all we never stood you up, because we have never agreed on a duel. Your personal grudges were never my priority for the Hellenic teams. Second this thread was forced by xenodrama. You asked for opponent and Sam appeared. Go play the bo11

What is this nonsense? You can't just put two randomers and tell them to fight? This is not a episode of blind dates.

You are all missing the potential of Photonique vs Xeno, where they were exes (in terms of clanmates at FCC) and he's already gave a jab on this thread. This is the next one we have got.

@Photonique Why do you dislike Xeno? Where did this stem up? Explain the drama here, get the community to hear your side. Get us hooked on the plot and give a proper damn BO11 because all we have is Alex calling Rufus the GOAT in the other one.

I don't care in the slightest and am not interested in a BO11. There is nothing I need to prove here and what has already been done is done. Can't change the past. In any case, basically everyone that joined Blitz from FCC is either inactive or left to join another clan. Wonderful project that ended up being.

"Hibernating" in TT's words. Might be a generous characterization.

Well FCC did win Clan League and at one point had one of the most active communities in the game. Where did the collapse occur from your perspective? I'm sure you had a role in the behind the scenes considering you were one of the more senior members in the clan.

Ah, right. I can explain that albeit in a somewhat limited scope. Maybe other people that were aware of the situation would disagree with me but fundamentally I think it was a mix of complacency and lack of vision. The merger with TSFH really made us poised to potentially dominate the competitive scene in the long run, I'd argue - especially given that it happened while we were already coming off a CL victory. Python was the only similarly ran clan and they wouldn't have had nearly the same depth in their talent factory. Masters would have still been stronger on paper but would have been overtaken in the long run. We let pettiness and ego get in the way though.

Pretty much no clan was run like Disco/FCC as evidenced particularly by the scripts being run behind the scenes. The way the P/R League was automated, for example. In fact, the P/R league in Disco is probably one of the best examples how the clan was light years ahead of others. The engagement in the event pretty much unrivaled AFAIK from intra-clan events. Obviously, the activity on the Discord server plays into that as well. Python probably had the better training program as they have had historically but that was the only department where they could claim superiority - and we had just started a training program of our own so even Python's monopoly there wasn't going to last for long. (I am making comparisons to Python here because of the similarity with FCC - not to demean them. They are a fantastic clan and clearly a few things were done better there because Python/101st still exists and FCC/Disco doesn't.)

Discovery/FCC didn't even peak in success with the CL victory. It was shortly post-merger with TSFH that the clan saw its peak IMO. But cracks started to show soon after. That's a whole other story in and of itself but something I would note is that events like the collapse or mergers of clans don't happen in a vacuum. People are involved. I highly doubt all the people that went inactive after joining Blitz from Disco/FCC would have done so if Disco/FCC was still around. Probably some up and coming players from that time too would have had a better chance to develop.

From an outsider's perspective, FCC's fate was sealed the moment when Xeno was let anywhere near the leadership role. FCC players should have seen that coming and they mostly have themselves to blame.

So, how many clans has Xeno killed already? TJC is the first one I know. TJC cheating scandal indirectly led to Master's collapse after CL10. And FCC turned from CL winners to a "hibernating" clan. What a great résumé.

Makes sense but I thought FCC was always one of those clans that was democratically run by a good few people. Did Xeno take more of a personal involvement and that's why there is a beef between you two? It was a very well run clan from the outside, just a big disagreement on how it should continue seemed to break the glass. How many people was in this "council"?

@FiveSmith: Don't worry I will continue it in due time but bear in mind that it will be largely my interpretation of events that unfolded afterwards. Xeno will have a different narrative of course. (Spoiler: It's wrong.) And Faler and TT might have a different opinion than either of us on the events of that period.

@Rento: Lol... I don't disagree. But that is jumping the gun. And the story is more nuanced than that. The clan was successful under Xeno for a period. How much of that is actually thanks to Xeno is probably not as much as he would like to claim but he did contribute some stuff.

@Plat:

Xeno literally stylized himself as a dictator. He probably still does. No one could be under any pretensions that the clan was democratically run. There were calls to change that... all snubbed. Ultimately, Xeno had the final say in any major decision. That seemed to please his cronies as well.

I had a 'leadership role' from the start, the players never had any choice in the matter. You are missing crucial details Big Boy. This is the problem with the outsider's perspective, and the reason why I have never commented on your plan to use the Nations Cup to end the war in Ukraine.

I will give my version of events, even though it's wrong, just because it's funny and I think some of you will get a laugh out of it.

Essentially, what happened was I had the bright idea to make a new clan, because I always hated the name FCC. We had a vote on it, and about 70% of members wanted to change the name. One of our most important admins (Faler) was against the idea, he said he would never leave FCC, and ceased organising the P/R League to prove his point. Another admin (PS) threatened to throw his CL15 games if we didn't change the name. Combine the infighting with a loss of activity - we lost most of our strat core between CL14 and CL15 - and the other admins and I saw the clan as a bit of a lost cause. In the end, we decided to merge with Blitz, which was and still is the best decision I have made on this game, as it got me out of clan management.

All in all, I have learnt some valuable lessons.
The first is name changes are a Pandora's box.
The second is that clan management is a waste of time.

Even if I am a clan killer, we still managed to win Clan League, with a squad that probably had no business winning.
Thanks Python.

The trick is to not let people with toxic behaviour traits in your community, if you want to consult my leadership experience. The only occasions when Python/Lynx ever came close to a meltdown was when there were members with unacceptable social behaviour. FCC had many merits that were described above, but it always had a bunch of people like that, and it was a matter of time when they would turn against each other rather than an outside group. That's why the main point I disagree with (with my of course limited information) is that there was ever such a point when FCC was in the shape to become the game's leading community.
