I agree on some of these. I hate seafood and mushrooms taste the way my basement smells.The thing I hate the most is mayonnaise and anything that has mayo in it. I actually use the word mayonnaise as a curse word and ranch is just dressed up mayo.

I think seafood has a lot to do with where you're eating it. I'm a native New Englander so I'm used to great, fresh seafood. I definitely wouldn't eat seafood anywhere that's not close to the ocean. That being said, I'm more of a shellfish guy. Lobster, shrimp, clam chowder, and you can't beat raw oysters on the half shell.

Benjamin, usually I'm rock flag and eagle through and through. But we have chocolate all wrong. European chocolatiers use milk as the main ingredient (as opposed to sugar that's used as the main ingredient in America). It's much better if you ask me, especially if you don't like sweet foods.

Caesar I'm with you on team vanilla but spicy food, especially buffalo wings, are a staple of my diet. Can't beat a nice big plate of hot wings on a football Sunday, and I put hot sauce on everything.

Anyway, don't you guys dare insult mushrooms! They are awesome, you can't eat them too much though since their taste is intense and you'd rather use them as an add-on than a principal meal.

and for me I think the most overrated food would be deconstructed food. what is the point of ripping something into its separate elements and flinging them around on a plate?

Mushrooms are great because they kind of act like a flavor sponge. They just soak up the flavor of everything around then. that's why chicken marsala is so good, the mushrooms just enhance everything

GM food

GM food is amazing. I don't understand why everyone hates it.
Personally, I hate bagels. They are so dry and taste like shit. Then people want to put cream cheese on them. WHO THE FUCK WANTS TO HAVE CREAM CHEESE WITH SHIT?

@Ranek, it is. So we're all naming foods that other people like that we don't, or that aren't as great as others seem to think they are.

the cost-benefit-calculation with genetic modified food is often pretty bad, so it is overrated in my opinion. compareable with biodiesel or bio fuel. dont know how it is called in english

I think Angus beef is overrated. Just tastes like any other corn fed cow to me. I think that a big problem with meat in the US is feeding them things that they wouldn't naturally eat. It's cheaper for the producers but changes the flavor of the meat. I would have to travel at least an hour to buy grass fed beef.

@Blortis just fyi, a lot of grocery stores in my area (New England) are starting to really ramp up the amount of organic and natural stuff with their generic store brands. Even my local stop and shop carries grass-fed ground beef and steaks, and a good selection of organic fruits and veggies. Definitely worth checking out, although you'll need to spend a bit more.

Tomatoes yes, my dad used to be a market gardener and the tomatoes from the garden always trumped the ones from the supermarket

Angus beef = Bigger patty in McDonalds to me, there isn't really any difference. But wagyu is a different story in my opinion...

My advice: Grow your own veggies, then you can always say how awful supermarket ones are

pepperonni pizza - personally I think Cheese(especially with meat or extra cheese) is way better
and pepperonni is just not my thing and its a bit spicy. Id rather eat a taki. id say cheese pizza is like a blank canvas and the toppings are the paint and if your the one cooking the pizza you are the artist. all toppings are good but I think pepperoni is unnecceceacary (and also veggies).

I also think mustard and ketchup are overatted- for mustard 1 word... NO. for ketchup so damn overused and I got tired of it quickly.

finnaly salsa- just... I know im hispanic... but this! It`s just much better when its hot.
