The debate of circumcision is a valid one. If you want to strip something from your child's body before (in this case he) has a chance to decided whether he wants to part with it, it's a violation of the child's rights, unless it's a threat to the child's health of course. Strange that Muslims aren't making such a big fuss about it as the Jewish community is, since they have the same practice. It's the Jewish community crying Nazi, because the German government did something they don't approve of, which is just another example of Zionism to me. If a boy wants to part with his foreskin, he can always make the decision himself when he's 16.

Homeschooling hardly qualifies as an ideology and even if you could somehow twist it to fit the term, it hardly qualifies as "all other ideologies".

Some religions practice female circumcision and the world rallied to defend women's rights and tried to ban it completely.

Also, your justification is health hazards and you use US soldiers in the Middle East as an example? Keeping yourself clean isn't all that difficult, even in the Middle East. It's perhaps more convenient, but the health related arguments are largely invalid for people who know what proper hygiene is. There are very few cases in which complete removal is necessary, there are more cases in which circumcision resulted in damage of the organ, leading to complications later in life (I'll leave the meaning of that to your imagination).

I'm American, and deeply troubled by the state of affairs in our country. Bush/Obama both used 9/11 as an excuse to push through Draconian legislation; there is no privacy anymore. We have no problem using drones to kill innocent civilians. We are not bothered by "collateral damage" on foreign soil.

I don't think we are the "worst in the world," as someone suggested, but we certainly do not live up to our stated moral ideals. That's the problem, not that we're worse than anyone else, but that we believe the myth that we are better. "American Exceptionalism."

Our Empire is crumbling. It's ok, it happens to all Empires and now it's our turn.

The thing is, the world better watch out for the next Empire at bat. It will almost certainly be China.
