Hmm, I took a survey...says that I'm most for Scottish National Party, with SDLP and Plaid Cymru coming in at second and third...F the English, I guess.

+ 1 Respect

Great Britain is an excellent island,
Significantly better than Ireland

If I were to become the dictator of Scotland, I would make a canal across Great Britain, and form the greatest island ever! (No not England and Wales - Scotland!!!) Oh yeah and then we would get that giant in Ireland to make a bridge like he was supposed to.

Back to the point.

The Tories are out-performing the exit poll and Alliance will lose their only seat to the BNP-esque DUP

Absolute disaster

Ireland is friend with Poland. If countries were potatoes, they'd be good potatoes. They are sisters, divided bydouchebags like sweden, Denmark and Russia. But one day, they'll be in harmony. ..

And both will. .. can into space.

So here are the final results:

Conservatives won with a great advance, Labour total failure, and SNP overwhelming in Scotland.

As promised, Cameron will have to set a referendum about leaving the EU, and if the English vote yes, the SNP already warned they would set a counterreferendum for Scotland to leave the UK (and this time the EU nations would not support the English).
Bis repetita.

UKIP got about as many votes (1 seat; 4M votes) as the SNP (56 seats; 1.5M votes) and the LibDems (8 seats; 2.5M votes) combined. FPTP just disadvantages parties whose supporters are spread out. It makes sense if you think about how no one really belongs to the abstract entity of the 'UK' as much as they belong to a region. Even if the UKIP has widespread support, it might not make sense for them to represent any region at all if they're not the most popular party in that region.

FPTP is built on the principle of regional representation, which many people would probably consider important.

So is the single transferable vote, but it's much more proportional.

UKIP came second 180+ times, which equates to sweet fuck all under the system.

They have less seats than Plaid Cymru and the SDLP. But the claim that UKIP aren't regional is wrong, they only got a handful of votes outside of England (mostly in Wales). Their problem is that England is huge.

Multi member seat constituencies with STV would give them a chance

Multi-member first-past-the-post is probably the only alternative now...
