There were no legal arguments made in this thread until you asked for them. You're so far the first person to bring up legality in a non-facetious manner. This is not worth suing for in any jurisdiction.

Intellectual property may be legally protected, but fundamentally it's an idea that exists independently of legal protections. It's the simple concept that those who make non-tangible items are entitled to what they make, compounded with the notion that protecting these makers' ownership of their product creates the sense of security that's necessary to encourage intellectual work.

Simply put, even if copyright law died tomorrow, intellectual property would still exist. Just as the right to life would continue to exist even if murder were made legal, because it's an ethical concept and not an intrinsically legal one.

Uncle Sam's stamp of approval isn't necessary for some things.

I don't anyone seriously believes Fridge should lawyer up here- there'd be nothing to really fight for, as RA hasn't really benefited in any financial terms. The harshest thing anyone's called for would be suspending RA from Warlight.

If you create something, you have a right to it. Simple as that. Fridge put the effort into it- he owns it. As I've said before, even Fizzer's acknowledged as much:

I don't think that accusation has any backing. I jumped into this because stealing maps is unethical and I think it's important to discourage unethical behavior (because the only alternative is to legitimize it). This isn't really "drama" either, at least not in the same sense as the Falcons stuff where it's just thread after thread of clutter. This is an actual issue that needs to be confronted.

No this is drama. It's not the first time, it won't be the last, fizzer will ignore it like usual and do nothing (see Gnuffles cheating, rigged coin games, and constant rule breaking on the forums). Also, I wasn't referencing you specifically as one of the drama wolves.

The biggest issue is no attempt to contact fridge nor any apology afterwards.

Arlecchino and his alt were suspended. Fizzer is responsive if you use the proper channels. I've reported RA personally and hope others do the same.

Even if that fails, we can still discourage this behavior as a community by voting this map down to oblivion (and taking a stand against similar offenses in the future). Those of us who are in clans can also change their membership guidelines to remove players who do what RA just did- just like most decent clans remove forum trolls already.

The truth is - IF he ever asked, i would most likely have nothing against it. All I would expect would be giving me credit, and maybe a link to my unfinished map. I knew he was not "fair" in many ways, but I respected his mapmaking skills.

As for the people telling - "oh, remove his trophy" - don't be ridiculous guys, he HAS made beautiful maps, not one but a few and he deserves the trophy. Don't confuse two unrelated things please.

He did not apologise, nor ask. He diminished my credit despite practically copying my map that has been tweaked by me like 50 times after many hours of test games. He does not feel he's done anything wrong and that's what makes me feel bitter about it.

Stating that I am retired, and nobody could guess otherwise is like the silliest thing ever. Yes, I am retired. I used to play between 15 and 100 games a day, with 30-40 multiday games at each given point. Now I have no multiday games left and once a week or two i play some casual RT games.

All it takes is LOOKING AT MY PROFILE PAGE. He would immediately see that I am logging in at least once three days. The mail icon flashes when new mail comes so he would get a reply in 3-6 days. He could have created a game with me instead - that way I would have gotten an alert directly on my mobile phone. Furthermore - at some point he got my Skype address, so could try there (however i seldom use skype). He knows or could know there are people like Latnox, who I know well in real life so he could contact me via those.. He did not bother to contact me in any way and what he does now is low.
