Honestly, Warlight was better before the update but that is just because before the update we saw a "full picture", now with Fizzer "redrawing" a new "picture" we only see the "sketch marks". Give it time and it will be better in the long run.

Also, a lot of people say they don't like it only because their not used to it.
Like showing a Kindle to your great grandma. It's not hard, just takes time to get used to.

There are some bad things right now, but you have to tear down the old shack to build the new house.
Be patient, and stop whining that it is not Exactly the way you want it. The Majority of the game is still the same.

Nothing wrong about disliking it, though. Personally, I find it quite awkward.

Adding my 2 cents: My Games and Open Games are vastly more user-friendly than the dashboard. The tabs provide an easy way of going back and forth between interfaces, and they keep everything separate. The dashboard does the opposite of this, merging all the functions in a horrible and disorganized way. Here's some reasons I don't like the dashboard:

• I have 70-90 multiday games going at any given point. This has never been a problem for me before, because I can easily keep up with it and the 10 game a page format for My Games meant I didn't have to load an excessive amount of games at once. However, I am now forced to load all 90 games at once, drastically lowering my performance. In addition, to get to open games, I have to scroll waaay far down. For that reason, I literally didn't know we had open games on the dashboard until 20 minutes ago when I took the time to examine it.
  
• It's cluttered and disorganized in the extreme. On the left we have My Games and Open Games squished into one column, which is bad when you have an excessive amount of either as I do. On the right is everything else, most of which I don't care about and never will, since I don't play competitively or play coin games.
  
• It's a lot harder to find specific games when all of them are shoved into one column where the names don't stand out at all. It was easier when I had segments of 10 games at a time.
  
• This is a repeat but it bears repeating: this lowers my load time from <1 second to ~5-10 seconds at a time. My Internet isn't the best either so sometimes it just doesn't load at all.

A lot of these problems are because I do have a lot of multiday games going at once. So what? We shouldn't punish players for having more or less games. When Fizzer took away the My Games and Open Games tabs, he took a system that was efficient, useful, and user-friendly and replaced it with a cumbersome and inefficient mess, one that is widely despised. Look, I didn't have a problem with the dashboard originally because I didn't have to use it. In fact, I still don't because the old link to My Games still works. But eventually he's gonna take that away and I won't be able to play WarLight effectively, if at all, because my computer can't run it.

Fizzer, this is a message directly for you: Listen to your users. When WarZone was announced as the new name, everyone went up in arms and rightly so. Now we're doing it again. I can't speak for everyone, but from this thread and the chat I've seen in my games, a very large amount of people hate this new update, even though it brought in good things along with the bad. When you make updates like this to get money and solely to get money, you lose dedicated users. There are better ways to do this. Listen to the feedback of your users before you make big changes like this.

EDIT: And for everyone saying that we haven't seen the finished product and that the dashboard is a WIP and that change is good, DON'T RELEASE THINGS BEFORE THEY'RE READY. That is a godawful business model for anything. Before airplanes were perfected and released commercially, they didn't work and flying in them might kill you. If the dashboard is an incomplete project, finish it before making us use it.

don't see what all the fuss is about, most of the functionality is on the dashboard, which is what 90% of you are using as your entry page to warlight anyways. those old menus were just cluttering the interface with redundant functionality. and if you really are that obsessed with using them you can still use them via direct url. so use them.

receiving death threats (even if it is from immature idiots) for a developer rolling out an update on his program is not cool though. regardless if you agree it's the right way to go or not. i would ban you if i was fizzer.

how many of you are certified interface usability experts btw?

just because you are used to an interface it doesn't mean it's the best option and that it should remain as it is forever. interfaces evolve, it's normal, you'll get used to it.

I was under the impression that he took away the My Game and Open Games tabs to force us to use the dashboard so we would see more ads, and he would receive more money from advertising.

I am sure he reads it. Likely won't comment. What is the point? He warned this change was needed long ago. Everyone complaining just wasn't here or didn't bother to read it.

Although i can understand that he mgiht want to avoid flash, it kind of sucks to be constantly loading the flash program every time I jin a new game

I seriously hope I'm wrong about what Fizzer is going to do. He's never once (To my knowledge) gone back on an update before, but the outcry against this most recent one is greater than any controversy before. Hopefully it has been noticed.

Of the 120+ posts, only 30 separate people have actually voiced discontent over this update, while 20 or more have voiced how it's fine and they liked the dashboard anywyas.

My only gripe about the dashboard is the lack of a close/minimize button on the little tabs, but other than that it's fine. The rest of this update is excellent and has been asked for a long time coming.

Also as far as controversy goes, Warzone announcement was much worse. I don't think anyone agreed on Warzone being a better name for this game.

Again, Fizzer said he was making "Enough" money, but he also stated in the livestream today that when he told people what game he's made, he's had to repeat it several times along with spelling it out.

Also, I don't care about Warlight being changed to Warzone - though some may whine about it a bit, it might prove better for more folk to come to play the game and it doesn't really affect playability (while taking out My/Open Games does).

And its not "hip", its called advancing with the times. Everything does, sorry that the one thing that truly made you happy, you had to bookmark. But honestly the Dashboard offers much more in the long term than the Open Games and My Games tabs. Instead of trying to revert things back to the way they were. Maybe you could try and advance the Dashboard to something better.

I'm fine with "advancing with the times" - but why should you take away, say, books written in 2009 when it's 2015? They're still books and still very useful. And I even offered a solution without bringing back My/Open Games - make Dashboard much more customisable. "Maybe. Someday." was Fizzer's response - and I don't disagree that this would be some work, but bringing back My/Open Games would be hardly any.

And yes, I am aware that your clan has me on a clanwide blacklist.

2) You just insulted him, unless you know for a fact he is in kindergarten, which make him pretty educated if that is the case (it is pretty disturbing you are tracking his bathroom habits though)

Bring back my games or re-format dashboard to be more customizable, allowing us to elect what we want to see on the dashboard, too much going on in dashboard and nice to see just 'my games' when coming in to check on game status. That is my two cents.

Can you please put back the my games tab and open games tab. It was way more user friendly. Not sure why you would change things to make it harder to use. I thought that was something only windows did.

I tell You I read lots of sad and pissed off people on chats in games since yesterday. Many people hate lack of Open Games and My Games.

And those 20 positive voices were on other features mostly, cause if somebody use dashboard normally, he don't care of lack of Open/My. It's lack of empathy for them not to care about other players and same for Fizzer.

You like dashboard so You don't care that hundreds of players hate it? That's so great of You.

Only some percent of people came her to show their disrespect for taking away something from them. Some don't even know that forum exist.

Fizzer, I advice You to check stats of site and new players after this change (Open/My as there rest seems to be fine). Check how much lower it went and if You want more people to come to Warlight, seems you did the opposite. Good idea would be also to make some survey on who want My/Open games back.

And really it's hard for me to imagine new players into Warlight, which have to get through dashboard to play a game. I think You will get less new players after forcing people to use dashboard.

And more to it, I personally hate when somebody forces me to do something and this actions seems like that. I will play probably till the link to Open Games will work, but probably less as it's inconvenient and pissing off.

But Fizzer, can you please just put more ads on the MY Games and Open Games tabs and bring them back? I loved them so much better and people joined games much quicker when they were up. I don't mind ads if you need the money, I just loved the previous interface and its better functionality.

Just like Wiseguy, I am concerned for the new(er) players who don't know much of WarLight yet.
Those will probably starting dropping off soon.

I also think many players will be booted in all games for the times to come.
And when the "My Games" and "Open Games" links no longer work, more players quit WarLight.

Expected population deminishmend: 30%-40%.
Only the people that really like the game will stay, players who just play for fun will probaby start looking for another game to play.
