Britain wouldn't give Narendra Modi a visa because of the Gujarat Riot Controversy in 2002, but as soon as he becomes PM you guys let him come to the UK no problem. I'm not even a Trump supporter, but I still think this is ridiculous. Banning "hate speech" is like opening a Pandora's box, because the definition of "hateful" and "offensive" is entirely subjective. If unchecked more and more speech will be banned/censored until there's little left to say.

Even more shocking is how European countries usually preach tolerance but have shown themselves to be quite intolerant of people they don't agree with. (This isn't the first time there's been a "Ban so-so because we don't like his politics!" petition coming from the U.K)

Why stop at all muslims? Yeah, many terrorists the US is dealing with follows some extreme Islam, but there are others who cause trouble; plus, lying about one's religion is very easy. If we are to stop terrorists from entering, we should close all borders to all people until we can figure out who we already have. That's the only effective way to do what Trump wants.

No of course not. That would be completely ludicrous, would harm relations with Germany, and would be equitable to censoring freedom of speech. A whole country (if the petition was adopted) would be punishing someone for saying their opinion essentially. That's not very European if you ask me. That being said a public petition to ban Trump from the UK is literally the UK public giving the finger to (at least) 10% of the American voting public (Republican support for Trump is 30% and the number of Republicans is about 1/3 of the US voting population).
