In a game, 2 players in my team and 1 on theirs got booted on the first turn. I suggested a vote to end, since a 2v1 is pretty much impossible unless they are idiots. One did not respond. The other did so, but rudely. So my questions are these: Should they Vote to End? Are people assholes for demanding a surrender in a situation like this?

No, is the simple answer.

If you are going to lose, you should surrender over VtEing.

Actually it make sense for you to surrender. When you vote to end no one gets a point. And if you will surrender they will get a point. They invest on that game; they spent time. And it is not their fault that your team mate get booted. They deserve to get point from that game.


Moreover in coin games, ladder games or tournament games you can not vote to end. I think vote to end only make sense when you are playing diplomacy games. When you play team games or FFA you should not ask for vote to end. When you understand you lost you should just surrender.

bullshit cookie, in a ladder game you on your own or a trusted teamate. not some random openseat person. There are no sneaky settings since the game is set by Frizzer himself. A vote should be used, there are some exceptions but in the first 2 turns and someone gets booted, I vote. its the decent thing to do. The only exception to this rule is if you're on my superblacklist.

For your point of view being nice is more important than get a point.
When you ask for vote to end try to pursue others you lost time too. I think it is better just surrender and spent your time with something better.

If you waited for an hour or something yeah but in most games you wait like 5 minutes. its not that much of a big deal

And yes, it was on picking stage.

I saw in FFA games same players try half an hour to just pursue others to vote to end. And later if several players left they threat to attack them if they do not vote end. It is just waste of time. İf they surrender when they understand they lost it would be much better for everyone else.

I did vote to end several times same one get boot in picking stage from other team. I do not mind.
But I do not ask to vote to end when my team mate get booted. I will just surrender. I prefer same one get same thing from game rather than no one gets nothing. And it is better for me not waste time on the game I already lost.

You even agreed with me that time. You said that you would vote to end if asked because a team game because unfair via boots.

Yes I agreed. But it just a game. You can ask for vote to end. And they might accept. I do accept when someone ask in that situation. But I am saying that it is also good choice not to ask for vote to end. Just surrender. Do not waste your time with those guys and play another game.

I actually do agree that if your teammate gets booted, you should surrender. Okay, it isn't a fair victory and if you're honourable enough, you probably won't take it anyway. But when you're teaming with someone, you are responsible for his actions too in a way. If he makes a mistake (and getting booted is a mistake) then you'll suffer. But that's how it is... if you don't want situations like this one, search for a reliable teammate earlier.
