i just think that not having a character limit makes the system more prone to slower response times and higher data storage (as a whitehat wannabe like me could easily abuse the system)
I think Google has enough computational power (Sheets seems to have a *lot* allocated to it) that the data storage isn't a concern. There could be issues with data size and whatnot (obviously, there's some weird implementation-dependent behavior that happens when you're playing with large amounts of memory) and someone could exploit the system with a ~10k character name, so I'll work on an option to set some sort of limit for team name character length.
and since the titles of these games are created in "name vs name" format, there lies the possibility of the second name being blocked out from even being viewable in the game title should the first name take up all the space available
Yes, CSL had that issue with a few players (most notably moshi); we'll inevitably run into it at some point with team names and whatnot unless we make a limit. I'll look into this and find the proper amount.
You could probably do a bit more whitehat fuckery than just long names, btw. At the moment, there's no input sanitation whatsoever- you could actually sneak in an ARRAYFORMULA operators with mismatched references to temporarily ruin the whole Sheet (apparently one of the more interesting bugs in Sheets). I guess that's going to be next on the list.
