To make strategic template with commanders in straight round mode you need 5 non distribution neutrals, in order not to use commander for easy expansion

the commander himself can probably be used in a strategic way somehow. but without transfer-only and with the 0-armies-Standing Setting it has barely strategic value. i'll Play anyways, cause that's going to be the first season without pressure from myself in 6 months.

Does Fizzer want everyone to quit playing?

Last time those options were removed, reasoning behind it was to make it more approachable for new players. But hell, does a new player join seasonal ladder? Even if so, I doubt that "transfer only" option would confuse him to the extend, that he'll lose just because of that.

I'm going to play just for fun, but I'm afraid, that loosing commander due to no transfer only will take away joy from much more people, than it will bring to.

I will boycott coin games until we have a seasonal ladder with attack/transfer only. Since Fizzer only seems to take action when his revenue is threatened, I encourage others to do the same.

the fact is nobody is FORCED to use Transfer Only and Attack Only if they're enabled, it's not like Multi Attack or No Split... If someone finds Transfer only or Attack Only useful in some situation he can use them, if someone doesn't want to use them at all he can just ignore them.

Removing Transfer Only and Attack Only just makes the game much less appealing for good players, and it will eventually make it less interesting for new players too

I understand that Fizz wants to make the game more appealing to new players. But do that in the open game section. The ladders are meant as a test of skill, settings are allowed to be different than they are in the open games. A player who joins the ladder is not a newbie anymore, it doesn`t need to be made easier for ladderplayers.

I don`t know if the transfer/attack only is an accident or accually left out because of that reason, but it should obviously be added to the template.

What i don't understand is HOW removing Transfer only and attack only will make the game more appealing to new players. New players don't even know those features exist! And as i said already they're never forced to use them

I'm just real tired of that excuse. SO WHAT if noobs won't use a setting? That is not a reason to make a template worse by not using it. If you want to make the open auto games more noob friendly, fine. But don't dumb down the ladders. Noobs cannot even play the ladders right away unless they buy a membership.

just because it's for all the same doesn't mean it has to be a lower skill Level required. newbies a) will not join ladders or b) get matched up with other newbies who don't use the Setting eighter or c) actually learn how to use it and improve.

it's fair cause it's for all the same. but for most it's less fun. maybe fizzer wants to kill some more commanders by not including Transfer only?

@MOD - Well, IF he wants transfer only off so that commanders are more at risk (faster games, might be factor on seasonal ladder)...that is a legit reason.

If he wants it off to be 'less complicated' then that is bogus to me.

btw, what's the reason behind forcing you to disable 'one army must guard' setting when using commander. Has fizzer said anything about it during last 'Ask Fizzer anything' ?

yes, he explained in the last live stream. something to do with if you had 1 army there and commander, and they killed 1 army with their attack (say poked with a 2), then the commander would die before the 1 normal army (if you did not have that setting).

So basically it ensures that commanders die last, which is what you want.
