For this first season, I need to get some background to evaluated an approximative ranking of countries. This need to show the current level and not the overall warlight History.


First, I will determined the spots for the leader nations and outsiders (respectively 3 and 2 players) to ask them to send players for the league: 22 spots.

Then, I will choice 6 top-players, each from different countries, and not from a top-9 nation to be automatically qualified.

After that, I will run some qualification tournaments in different templates which allow participation for the 8 remaining spots. Every players from any nation could participate (even if one of the top), but players will need to respect some prerequis to participate (minimum level to avoid to huge and useless tournament).

For the nation ranking, I checked nation cups and it's and only one tournament finished... in 2012. Furthermore, some nations get merged, and others sent more than one team. There is some information to consider, but it's really not enough.

I will take into account for peak ladder performances (if someone could help me...).

I will also based my choice on major warlight leagues:
- Clan League (the two past seasons, A and B, if possible. I haven't CL5)
- promotion/relegation leagues (https://www.warlight.net/Forum/130085-promotionrelegation-league-season-18)
- lolowut Champion's league (three years ago however... I need a link of the results please)

For the 6 top players, I will take my choice on this list of interested top players (from Gui + already interested top players from this topic). If another top players would like to participated, please sign here as soon as possible. I will send a mail to the 6 players, and if I didn't get an answer after one week, I will give the spot to another top player.

I would like to join too.

So I got a ranking according to some statistics based on peak ladder, Nation Cup, Clan League (s6&7: %win top20-A, top10-B), Promotion/Relegation League (s16-18: A), WSOW (s1&2: top8), 20 League (last season, 20A) and Infinity League (overall Top10).

Top4 countries: (3 spots each)
- USA
- Poland
- Germany
- France

The 5 Outsiders: (2 spots each)
- Netherlands
- England
- Italy
- Israel
- Brasil

These statistics are not perfect, but there is a great gap between 4th and 5th place, and a significative one between 9th and 10th.

I will make a list of 22 top players from these countries for the first season. If there is some problems to find them, I will ask for players from the following countries (Switzerland, New-Zealand, Norway, Taiwan, Lithuania)

When this will be done, I will invite 6 top players, and then launch 4 qualification tournaments for the 8 remaining spots (a spot for the two first places of each).

People that ask me there will be invited. If there is too many people, I will select according some prerequis those that could play these tournaments.

Hum... what was your idea ? A link ? I didn't see. I follow an idea of Gui (I cited my sources) where I introduced a completely different strategy of seeding (I thought this was new), and small changes in the tournaments.

What are you talking about ? Warlight World Cup ? This League is not like your Warlight World Cup.

Your idea is good but this one is more a Champions League than a FIFA World Cup. Most of the seeds are given by nation spots but all players will play for themself.

Furthermore, this league has vocation to be regular and the spot awarding could change according the ranking of the country.

In conclusion, the only common thing with your Cup is the word "nation" or "country", even if it is not used in the same way.

Dunno where you got your list of top playes, but I clerly should be no there! (Just Kidding, well not completely but mostly kidding)

Also I presume you are using flags? to determine country for players. Well if you had a sharp eye you spotted me for Norway in Nations Cup, and that is the country I will represent here too :D

So if Norway gets a spot from Seedig I would like that to represent!

Norway have had very good performances in NationCup so a player could be invited. In all cases, there will be qualifiers.

Qualifiers

Two first multi-day qualifiers of 16 (good) players will be launched soon, giving 2 spots each (finalists). A same player cannot participate at both, so I will select randomly players to go in each. (Guiroma & Battle Island V, rt ladder templates)

In the same, a third multi-day qualifier tournament of 64-128 players will be run. Everyone can participate to the third qualifier (even those that go in one of the two others). This tournament will determined two more qualified players. Vacations will not be honored for this one. (Strat 1v1 ME 0% SR)

At last, a real time qualifier will be run, giving the two last spots. Probably at the end of June. (Greece rt ladder template)
