I pretty new at this and trying to beat the single player 'Crazy' game (5th in the series). I get trashed every time though ... and quickly. Is there anyone who can regularly beat this? Can you give me some advice?
It's a tough level! The start locations are random in that one, so you can try starting over a few times until you find a position you like. Starting in smaller bonuses helps.
Also note the AIs are on two teams. Make note of who you're attacking - you want to attack the teams roughly evenly. If you focus too much on one team, the other team gets too strong to take down later.
I got it first time. Took continents in this order:
1. Australia
2. Antarctica
3. South America
4. Africa
5. Central America
6. Europe
7. Asia/middle east
8.North America
Starting in Australia always helps. lol 41 turns, took way too long
Crazy is a crapshoot. You can play it perfectly a dozen times without winning. It all comes down to having a healthy balance between the two teams, and you have to invest quite a bit into the game before you can determine if that's the case. If not, start over. And over. And over. Get your gold star and then never play it again.
After about 30 tries, I came here to search for advice. Thanks to several good suggestionI've finally beat the "Crazy" level after 5 more attempts. I found my best chances was to start in Western USA or Mexico. Securing mexico first, Western US, Then Securing Alaska and working to the east in US, then canada. had no opposition until i got to the eastern part of Canada. I dropped into South AMerica to hold 2 teritories from my opponent while working on Iceland and so on.
I found a way to see how the crazy Ai team works.
You can set up a game exactly like the insane but then eliminate fog, in single player mode-custom game.
I can beat it easily this way but I have not had the time to do it fogged in the actual challenge. I got tired of doing it after about 25 tries. After I beat it with no fog, I lost interest.
I will get to it sometime I suppose.
crazy is mostly just about luck in starting spots.. yours and theirs
and what you did was recomended by many people on how to practice for Insane..
notable ofc' is that they don't always react the same way.. but you can get a feel for their general early game tactics, and can usually figure out how they played shortly after you find them in the game.
