^^ No need to be rude, I just didn't think of that. But that is a good point. Maybe have a special section where lower level players can ask questions?

Interesting how will Fizzer delete the spam as he said he can't delete threads in my mailbox...

^^sorry, didn't mean to be rude.
Sadly i'm finding this site more and more frustrating though.

A forum should by definition be open to everyone.
It's primary function should be to inform and help.

Nowadays it's not used for that purpose as established players have been given a virtual monopoly of what is shown.

Remember we never got these spam attacks prior to the changes simply because everyone (even the trolls) got to have their say.

You will always have trolls, it used to be ok since they could get their jollies by posting crap and it never really interfered with the forum being a forum.

Nowadays the only way that they can be heard is by doing stuff like this whilst the people who have been penalized are the casual forum user.

Fizzer is to blame sadly for bowing to pressure from the top players and having taken the time to produce his upvoting system i guess he is too proud to admit his mistake

bottom line though is a forum should be open to all equally and it's simply not as it is

The answer is actually pretty simple.

Have downvoting
don't have upvoting.

Then the most recent posts will be displayed regardless of who they are created by and trolls threads can be hidden

indibob maybe you forgot that the upvoting system was actually introduced because of all the spamming back in the day from only 1 or 2 players who spammed like 20 full pages in just a matter of 10 minutes on all different sections of the forum.

And what do you mean with
As it is, a newbie who comes to the forum with a genuine question or problem can't get his posting seen because of all the upvoted stale crap that's pushed to the top.

the only way it goes down is by it getting downvoted or just no response on the thread at all but usually the last won't happen if it is in the help section of the forum

not true, if i post a new posting most people wont see it. The dashboard is simply just full of upvoted threads which prevents new posts from being seen

As to the reason it was introduced, i'm sorry you are wrong it was introduced because of a few posts about cats.
Yes the forum was full of shit but no, we didnt have mass spamming like we have now, it was all separate postings.

many people already attempted to convince Fizzer of ever implementing a forum thread limit but he won't budge

A perfect example, Je ne suis pas Karl Goldberg is a level 10, if the level 30 rule was in place then we would not have this problem. Also, how is determination or time committed (in regards to level) to the game "elitist", it only shows that you enjoy the game or that you have not much time on your hands (in regards to the lower levels, if they have a question they could simply have a different area, as recommended previously).

Regards,

no, if the level 30 rule was in place then the game would die.

Of course it is elitist to say that because you have been playing here for a year you are more important than someone who joined 2 months ago. Or have more right to post on the public forum.

What's your definition of elitism?

Dude, I remember what it was like to be a noob. I had tons of questions too. Which is why I said "Maybe have a special section where lower level players can ask questions?"

...mate, I'm pretty sure that about 20-30 noobs each month ask for help, and them not getting any so easily wouldn't kill game. That said, I don't really see any reason for a higher level for posting anyway if thread limits are put.

Remember when Fizzer lied me he can't delete threads just to keep my inbox spammed...

and now he's ignoring me with the question „How did you delete these threads while you lied me you can't delete threads?“

I don't think Gen and Clans should have a 20 cap. However, a 100pd limit would be excellent. The only circumstance in which one would post 100+ in a day would be if they're trolling.

This is a joke, right? You're level 49, and most of it probably comes out of a lucky diplo victory. You can't speak much about level being commitment, lest you want to admit you're a lousy player.

Hell, I'm a lot less committed than most people 56-60 are, and look at my level.

Pretty much what indibob says sums it up. Even though mass spams did happen before the vote change, it were mostly mailbox junk and happened 3~4 times. Immediately after the voting system we had 15 days of nearly daily spamming. If you keep trying to downsize people they'll just go louder and louder to fight back.

If anything needs to be added, it's just a cooldown of some minutes to post a new thread, and that's just about it. I'm sure nobody needs to post more than one thread every ten minutes anyway. They can just use the same one, or post on an existing thread. Any more silencing systems is just going to make the trolls want to troll more, and make more people bubble inside the forums alone shitting their badly unfunny references about their oh-so-amazing strategic penis map WR 16%.
