According to the authors of the Wikipedia article, "List of British units it the American Revolutionary War", no honors were granted to British regiments during that war because it was seen as a civil war.
The implication being that honor of a sort which it is proper to publicly grant does not pertain when the British Army is using violence against its own people.
Nonetheless it is stated that "Four battle honours were, however, awarded for actions against the French and Spanish in the West Indies and other theaters."
I am not prepared to agree that the British regarded the French or the Spanish as being 'savages'.
