Warlord, use some basic grammar please! You say you're from America, take some pride in the English language and apply it at least semi-properly, I can barely understand you.
In Texas almost a third of the population is of Hispanic descent and is very proud of it, what are you talking about?? - Also, Texans are Texan first and American second in some parts of the state.
60% of the people in Crimea are of Russian descent and claim to be Russian. In Eastern Ukraine it's anywhere from 25-40% depending on who you believe.
And yes, they had a reason to split just as Russia has a reason to want them back. Both sides have good arguments. If Texas has a reason to split, should the US allow it? The US is in so much debt it's on the verge of collapse, most countries would have defaulted by now and succumb to revolution or civil war. -> Greece, Thailand, Burma, Bangladesh, several African nations, etc.
No, I wouldn't. There are similarities, but I'd see it as Russia reconquering lost lands from the fall of the USSR and trying to regain its Superpower status.
IMO, had Germany stopped with Austria and turned Czech into a sphere of influence rather than directly annexing its lands it could have stopped there with complete legitimacy. Germany and Poland could have organized a treaty to ensure East Prussia remain an integrated part of Germany and there wouldn't have been a need for more expansion, but Hitler had his own designs.
The difference is Crimea was (and is) Russian. Austria, while having German ties and a strong similarity in terms of culture and language, was for most of history its own nation/empire.
It's allright Hauptmann, I wasn't expecting any sources from you anyway. That second post was my attempt at a joke about the 2 pages of spam by wolfie.
It would help me a lot if you were a little more specific than that. How about using these for example - they're meant for this kind of thing, you know:
on Mar 14, 2014ww3 ? U S mercenary troops are seen on video tape invading Ukraine one week before the Crimea's referendum to Join Russia. This may be bigger than we thought! It appears that after Putin humiliated Obama in the Syrian Crisis a few months back, we are determined to get even. However, It may be backfiring. Russia isn't having any of it. Russia is massing it's military on Ukraine soil and the surrounding area. This will not be given up to America without all out War. Maybe this will be WW3.
