I cannot for the life of me figure out how the AI works in this. It seems like they are able to spread faster than I am at any given point. I'm not a slouch at Risk, I can compete with humans at any given point, but the AI just works my booty over in the most egregious way. Any tips for not getting slaughtered by the computer?

AI is not that tough to beat; if you're playing single player levels- you can grow faster if you attack 2 armies of neutrals with 3 armies of yours. I understand that in tutorial, it actually shows you to attack 2 neutrals with 4 armies- but because of the kill rates, 3 armies kills 2 neutrals too. Now, if you take bonuses(like Europe in tutorial-which gives 5 armies) and defend it from AI, you can easily outgrow AI.

You can analyze attacks to see how much armies kills how much of neutrals/opponent, if you don't want to calculate it based on the kill rates.

The AI only reacts to what it sees and not what could be there. Lets assume the AI doesnt have a ton more inc than you and still has expanding possibilities. You should never high stack against it. if the AI sees only 2 units it will only attack it with 3. if it sees 1 unit it will only attack with 2. If you had a chocke point and you have 2 units left on their while the AI has 7 rdy to attack the AI wont deploy anything more to it (maxmum 1 or 2). you should always keep a low units count on the AI border so the AI will only deploy as little units it needs making your life a lot easier and you being able to expand.

The only other thing you now need is to know what "delaying" is. your attacs against the AI should be your last orders (orders seen on the right. the higher up the more priority) your attacking units against the AI should be low priority except it has a stack inside of you that you want to kill very badly. then first order. by delaying your attacks against the AI it will often run into your stack.. the AI loses more units. and you can simply take it over in the same turn due to your attack happening after the AI's all while still expanding.

In this game: https://www.warzone.com/MultiPlayer?GameID=15908792
you can see me and a friend making a race who can beat their AI faster. On my side you can see that im doing what i just said. keeping a low border against the AI while keep expanding. even when i break the AI bonus i only attack it with very few units to due me knowing it wont properly defend anyway. while on the other side you can see my friend that isnt that experienced against fighting AI's and makes a ton more high stacks. that leading to poor expanding and while he still wins against the AI im just a ton faster than he is and a lot more efficient. even with keeping a low border while he has a high stack border i have almost the entire game more inc than he does while my AI has less inc than his AI has.

Well, after losing - literally - 40 times to the "Getting Strategic" map. I'm done with this game's AI. This is just stupid. Yes, I'm salty, but this is ridiculous.

I regret paying this website money now. I was having so much fun. I wanted to have expanded game features with friends, but now I've just contributed to cheating AI instead of good AI. It 100% has to be cheating. It either starts with more territory or just gets more APT than you do. It's impossible.

Well, I've beaten all the single player levels so it must be possible. In fact, I'm so good that I beat "Race to the Middle" and "Caesar's Challenge" in 0 turns. The computer was so afraid of me it just surrendered. Check my profile if you don't believe me. The key to beating the AI is getting it to be afraid of you.

"The AI is so good" is the most ironic thing I have ever read. I guess in singleplayer it might make sense though, as I'm ignorant of it.

I tried using autopilot on the surrender tutorial and it deployed 5 to Argentina but refused to commit. Now I can't even surrender either, lol.
