@RvW, the rule is already stated in another thread
and they can finish the match if they want, but the scoreboard will have a winner, the problem is how to do it without finishing the game.
How you guys like the idea of the round 3 7v7 starting before?
Since the round 3 pairings are obvious now, I suggest that team captains should have the option of creating any of those games (not just the 7v7) earlier than August 1 as soon as they have a lineup ready, but it should not be mandatory (since they may want to wait for players to return from vacation).
Should starting the 7v7 by Monday be mandatory... let's go with consensus with that one. I prefer that it not, because I have more than 7 players on my team so I need some time to set a lineup. Perhaps another option is to make the 7v7 a 2-day boot (for just round 3 or for both rounds 2 and 3.)
How about keeping it optional for now; if almost all teams want to start Round 3 right away, you can always make it mandatory-unless-you-have-s-good-reason (such as a player on vacation). If many teams don't want to, maybe it's better not to force the issue.
Todo for next year: think about how to keep things manageable (time-wise). ;)
i really think things are pretty more manageable time-wise than could be expected. All games are created in time and this kind of slow play we find everywhere. (we are in vacation season, lets not forget).
Now i add this warning rule so players have a reason for playing faster (not enhancing his opponent score).
The other options lies in auto-boot and it could be set for 2 days, but i can see lots of complaining.
Hi all, I would like to say sorry for the delay, my mates and I hade make a decision to quite this match.
so China 1 team will leave national cup. Because the players in my team including myself don't have that much time on games, so we will no longer join the rest of the games.
i'm really sorry for that... Was enjoy to play against you, for me look like only 2 of your player are not actif enouth, but it's your choise and i respect it.
yeah, thats is major unfortunate. I would like for you guys to reconsider.
The biggest problem this could bring is decideing the 2 3rd places.
I think groups that end up with 3 teams can't forward 3 places to the next round.
Lets hope the group stage thing works (loosing teams not loosing interest), otherwise we will have to have only elimination rounds in the future.
Wasn't Scandinavia (or someone else) going to field a second team at some point, but they left so that both Chinese teams could join? Could that team be revived?
If we can't find a replacement team (and let's hope other teams don't drop out) then I suggest the other two teams in the group be awarded the same margin of victory France had over China, which I believe would be 9-2 if China forfeits the rest of the games.
