Hello the map guild have moved on two their second project with the first coming out soon. From a community vote, Ancient Greece (we have to call Hellas) has been the most popular. On this project I myself and CK are making the map, and Arun is editing. However we'd love to see some new faces it's not to late, you don't have to join the guild necessarily but it would be a good idea if you like our concept. All you have to do is message an ask to take part :)

Map process http://warlight.net/SinglePlayer?PreviewMap=32527
I will be doing my part first which includes Southern and parts of middle Greece, Islands and Crete. CK will be doing Turkey and the rest of Greece afterwards. If any good designer wants to help with the background design we'd be very happy. If not I can always do it.

Accuracy
I've been doing quite a bit of research into the period and I've spent a very long time searching for ancient cities. I've actually been very successful and hopefully every city, place I include has some ancient background. As well as accurate names, bonuses and kingdom/states. If anyone knows more id be glad if you message me, I've got a bit stuck on the kingdoms tbh.

Thankyou

Michelangelo and the guild.

There was a fault on the left coast, I plan to place each nod individually. But the gap I think is a river or sea that runs inland a bit. It's just not shaped like one yet.

You seem to be a bit front/back with territory names.

For example, why "Krete"? If you're going for closer to the actual pronunciation "Kriti" would be a better fit. Otherwise, just "Crete". It's kind of in the middle right now.

If you want, I'd be happy to help with naming.

Every name is an ancient name, Crete was actually Krete back then in Ancient Greece. But your welcome to help with naming. Thankyou ;)

Very good atm. I like the double line around the territories, it makes it stand out more. Another query, how will Arun know what to fill in when doing names?

Hello, big update! I have started on mainland Greece, here we are: http://warlight.net/SinglePlayer?PreviewMap=32527 The maps in its early stages, but id love some suggestions still!

About your job Arun, its mixed! You still can do the centre points, links, bonus values and colours. Plus some names. As I have an ancient map with a lot of names on, plus most of the Islands are still called the same. But I will do the tricky ones myself, I have done a lot of research and I have an ancient name for every territory so far.

Looking fine so far :). I would enlarge the small one territory islands a bit, i'm think they won't fit 2 digit armies. One thing bothers me though :). Maybe you could use a different font. This one just doesn't have that Greek feel to it. Something like

http://www.dafont.com/alfabetix.font
http://www.dafont.com/marathon.font
http://www.dafont.com/pirho-herakles.font
http://www.dafont.com/adonais.font

these are the first i found after a short search. I'm sure you could do better :D You could even make it look like it's written in stone. Should take much work or space.

Keep up the good work :)

Yeah I found out they don't fit. Maybe I will remove some but hopefully enlarge as much as I can, without making it overcrowded. The design and fonts atm are temporary, I'm just testing :) But very good idea, I didn't think of that.

I'm close to starting Epirus. However I've been halted by a couple of Ancient regions, I have some cities, but I cannot find any location. The regions are Dolopia and Aperantia: (not sure if anyone can help)
