sorry mac, ok sure about the 40 players thing, but hardly anyone is going to use a different 4 every time, as it is obviously better to use your best players again and again. But by belt I meant legendary status. So if REGL were to get legendary status, and we win 10 in a row and stop while we're ahead, would we lose our status if we re-entered, or what would happen? (I forgot to say this in the last post) if we were to lose it by entering again, could we have a second team, that could gain the status a second time?

@Hedja once Legendary status has been achieved this will never be removed. you are free to enter again after this if you want.

The point I think Mac is trying to make is that a clan get legendary status after ten games so they retire. However another clan come to achieve legendary status, however they hold the title for 15 games before retiring. The first clan feels they no longer hold the best record, so they reenter to try and beat it. Because of this, the new record holder may decide to reenter, just to keep their record from being beat.

each clan could make an account devoted only to their achievements members etc.

I didn't read all 4 pages, but the loser of the challenge should go to the back of the line (in terms of challenging again). That way other clans get their chance before you get another chance.

From reading this thread it sounds like Arun has adopted it as his own baby and became the oracle of knowledge about it.

Let the thread creator answer questions posed to him please Arun. Even on this thread you have mistakenly or wilfully altered what the OP said. So I'd rather here from Mac than hear what you want this to be.

@ChrisCMU if you lose then you are out. If you want to join again thats fine, you will just need to asked to put your name back on the list.

Read the rest of the thread finally. Two thoughts:

1) You set minimums on the map (bonuses), but what about maximum amounts? I personally decline anything with more than about 300 territories. Just too big to play IMO.

2) This is pointless if you don't allow all clans to participate, regardless of how good they are. Unless you consider this the minor leagues (like the intercontinental belt in wrestling, if they still do that...been like 10 years since I watched).

If you don't like the idea of someone holding it forever make the retiring mandatory when you reach legendary status. Then don't allow that clan to challenge again for a period of time. You could also preset 10 (or whatever number) maps with settings and then randomly select one for the challenge so it isn't just out of the champion's wheelhouse.

1) I see your point, im not a great fan of larger maps either however i only really wanted to limit the minimum because the game would be pointless on a really small map with 8 players. Stategically it doesnt make any sence to not allow large maps because of 1,2 or a few peoples preferecnes. the whole idea is that the belt holder holds the advantage and chooses the map they wish

2) im not sure what you mean here. i want as many clans as possible to enter. there is no restriction on how good the clan is. in an ideal world all clans would put theit now down to enter

3) the idea was thrown around about setting certain maps but most people i have spoken to prefers the holder to choose them. im also not quite sure what you mean by not allowing the clan to challange again for a period of time. once you have won 10 games in a row i doubt you will want to add yourself straight to the list again so im not sure this is an issue.

I was pretty much referring to jsa's post about apex dominating and [P] not being in it. I wasn't part of the clan when he posted that, so I didn't know if he made that choice or wasn't invited.

As far as the limit, I am talking about the huge maps (like 2,000+ territories). They take a long time to load and hose bandwidth, especially if you are going mobile or taking some turns at work. Not to mention they take forever to play, especially with 8 people involved (and possible vacations). It would be really hard to make sure you are available and not going to slow the game down when the game itself could take a month. I am in some now that might take a week between turns, which can be a real downer when you are talking about this format (sort of a tournament).

hmm yes jsa's post doesnt make sense to me because its just like saying im not going to join any "normal" tournament where apex are involved because we wont win. That is of course his and [P]s choice but anyone clan is able to join

i see your point with the games taking ages, you are right, those type of games can take months. Putting a maximum limit on teritories is something im going to have to seriously think about
