@KillerCow

Mwah, I haven't made any good roleplaying maps so far, and I completely suck at templates.

@Ironheart
Good idea, I'm not very good at making balanced distributions. I'll invite you to a test game as soon as other people want to join too.

@moros I said at the start it's not just for role-players it's for map makers as well.

That's what I said. You said you needed to make 5 roleplaying maps/games.

I then said I changed that to either 1 or 2 maps or RP :)

You have made more than 2 maps at least so you can join.

I want to make a better version of my 30 Years war scenario but I need to make a new version of the Europe 1600 with more territories in the Holy Roman Empire region. I would like to include all states and even major cities. I have never made a map so this is very ambitious of me. Can someone help me?

I want to add more territories to the central area and make some improvements to the map as a whole including better sea movement to allow easier naval invasions for Sweden, England, Norway and the like. Maybe key sea territories or more links such as Kent to Calais would be a must as well as many others.

If you got some good input let me know.

I do like Moros' map. I t is fabulous. That is almost what I want for my scenario. I would just need to change some territory names and also change the bonus structure.

The only thing I personally don't like about the map are the large ships. They make the map too cluttered. Maybe just use the small ships or some other indicator for sea control. Just my opinion. The map is tremendous!

Maybe Moros could help me construct a map?

About your map Moros: It's just not accurate.

http://www.euratlas.net/history/europe/1100/index.html

^-- Closest to 1067.

About half of the names on your map are inaccurate. Some lands were still very much tribal and couldn't even really be grouped into a 'Kingdom'

Byzantium Empire was stronger.

Half of Spain was controlled by the Moors, not by Leon, or Castille for that matter.

Russia was very tribal, infact, most of the east was tribal.

Orkney was controlled by Norway (Consider Iceland theirs too)

Finland wasn't a kingdom, it was tribal. Never developed into anything until Sweden took it over. Then they began establishing themselves and later broke off from Sweden.

Just saying, if you're going to do a historical map, might as well make it right.

@Lolowut
It's no historical map, it's a bit more complicated.
This is a map based on the game Crusader Kings I. In that game you control a dynasty, and can do anything a sequences of kings, dukes or counts could do.
There are two kinds of kingdoms. You can either be a kingdom from the start (also, principality, electorate, pontificate, chiefdom, emirate, sultanate etc.), or, when you have conquered 2/3 of any kingdom's "allocated territory".
I named the map Europe 1067 AD because the game starts in that year (it ends in 1450).
When the game starts, it is very historically accurate, with lots of barbarian tribes in Russia, and some kingdoms of the map I created are not there. Like the Kingdom of Rus, or Khazaria. If I were to play the actual game and conquered 2/3 of Rus' allocated territory, I could make myself King of Rus, given that there is no other King of Rus at the same time. Otherwise I'd have to usurp it, but that's a different story.
Other kingdoms do exist, and kingdoms like Denmark, England and Hungary occupy exactly all of their allocated territory, but other kingdoms don't exist or are called differently.
My point is that the kingdoms I made on the map are not historically accurate, but they fit the game the best. If I would make it historically accurate, I would get hundreds of independent territories, and that would make no good map. I only named it Europe 1067 AD because if I were to name it something like Crusader Kings Europe, you would think it has something to do with crusades (if you don't know the game), and there's no way I could make crusades happen because the pope calls you to arms, like it is in the original game.
But the name could change if anyone has a better idea.

(Didn't notice the Orkney and Iceland)

Okay, if it's Crusader Kings I based I agree wholeheartedly. I didn't recognize it straight off the bat.

I'm working on a new map for the 30 Years War scenario.

I have completed HRE component (Germany and Central Europe). Now need to add on the periphery of France, Italian peninsula, Iberian Peninsula, British Isles, Scadinavia, The Russias and the Ottoman Empire. I am making the central area more dense in territories as the main focus is there. I still need to decide whether to have sea territories or lots of land/sea connections. I favour sea territories to allow England and Sweden more say in Europe. Tha map is a bit quirky i.e. not exactly physical Europe.

I proably need some advice on finishing the map. I'll get the bulk done first.
