Some maps made by each of these players to give you a taste of their style:
Incaman: Rise of Rome:
http://warlight.net/Map?ID=6618 . Fall of Jerusalem:
http://warlight.net/Map?ID=9359 . Macedonia:
http://warlight.net/Map?ID=5420Incaman has made 2 of the most played 4v4 and 5v5 maps on warlight (Rise of Rome and Fall of Jerusalem). He has also made a smaller map that plays pretty well for 2v2 and 3v3 (Macedonia). His maps tend to have superbonuses and the non-super bonuses tend to be smaller than the average map (ranging from 1 army per turn/1 territory bonuses up to 5 army per turn/6 territory bonuses.
Inner Kingdom: Ursa Luna:
http://warlight.net/Map?ID=10273 . Final Earth:
http://warlight.net/Map?ID=14538 . Europe 2.0:
http://warlight.net/Map?ID=14319 .
http://warlight.net/Map?ID=13333 . K-PX:
http://warlight.net/Map?ID=8437 .
Inner Kingdom has made many amazing maps recently. His maps usually are best for 3v3 and tend to be around 200 territories. The thing that stands out about his maps are their beauty. Combine that amazing beauty with strategic value and his maps are all among the best. Many would consider him the best mapmaker currently, and he has definitely made a strong case for that title.
Fizzer: Modefied Medium Earth:
http://warlight.net/Map?ID=7224 . Heavy Earth:
http://warlight.net/Map?ID=7361 . Europe Challenge Map:
http://warlight.net/Map?ID=155 .
Unlike most other mapmakers, Fizzer's maps are based on other maps but add a different strategy to them. Medium Earth is by far the most played map on warlight, and Modefied Medium Earth and Heavy Earth are different versions of it, just as Medium Earth is a different version of Earth. Fizzer also changed the Europe map to add a new idea with Single Player. His maps are well designed and have strategic value.
Ranek: Battle of Dresden in 1813:
http://warlight.net/Map?ID=14191 . Planetary Annihilation:
http://warlight.net/Map?ID=14090 . Medieval Battleground:
http://warlight.net/Map?ID=13109 .
Personally, I have never played any of Ranek's maps. He has 3 maps rated in the top 28 though, so he is obviously doing something right. His maps look to have good bonus values for strategic play, and his Planetary Annihilation map is possibly the best looking map on warlight, even surpassing Inner Kingdom's maps. I am intersted to see more of his work in the future.
Cpkeno: Europe Big:
http://warlight.net/Map?ID=3722 . Modern Europe:
http://warlight.net/Map?ID=11077 . Humanity:
http://warlight.net/Map?ID=6214 .
His maps are much bigger than average and look like they would work well for big team games. His bonus values are good, and the borders between territories are well drawn. If you want to play some huge maps, these look like some good ones for you to try out.
The King: Africa Big:
http://warlight.net/Map?ID=10589 . European Nations:
http://warlight.net/Map?ID=10538 . Sub-Saharan Africa:
http://warlight.net/Map?ID=12051 .
Like Cpkeno's maps, The King's look like they would be good for big team play. Well designed and the bonus values are good. His European Nations map is an interesting idea and would be played very unorthodox.
Saruman: Battle of Minas Tirith:
http://warlight.net/Map?ID=13262 . Middle Earth Big:
http://warlight.net/Map?ID=8623 . Middle Earth Diplomacy:
http://warlight.net/Map?ID=12094.
Saruman's maps make for wide open fighting in some areas, yet very narrow fighting in other areas. Plenty of chokeholds. A wide range of bonus values add to the strategic value of these maps.
Chaos: Battle Islands 4:
http://warlight.net/Map?ID=5449 . Battle Islands 5:
http://warlight.net/Map?ID=5745 . Phobia:
http://warlight.net/Map?ID=8035 .
Chaos's maps look great, and there are many different styles that his maps offer. Snow Mountains, Phobia, the Battle Island series. He has like 7-8 good maps. 2 are among the top 10 most played 1v1 maps by the competive side of warlight. The others work fairly well for 2v2, 3v3, and even bigger games.
Pedrito: World Big:
http://warlight.net/Map?ID=5532 . World Nations 2012:
http://warlight.net/Map?ID=7387 .
His maps have an odd design compared to most of the maps I've looked at so far today. But they probably are ok for strategic play, and they do a nice job of covering the whole earth.
Major Risk: European Borders:
http://warlight.net/Map?ID=5602 . Alternative Europe:
http://warlight.net/Map?ID=5624 . Alternative Africa:
http://warlight.net/Map?ID=8441 .
Major Risk's maps are well designed and are among the most popular maps for 4v4 and 5v5 play. Also good to note, his maps appear to be the design Inner Kingdom based Europe 2.0 off of.
Fecoban Roblexia: Switzerland Big:
http://warlight.net/Map?ID=13883 . Philippines Big:
http://warlight.net/Map?ID=10802 .
I've never played any of his maps, but they look like maps that are made for 6v6 or bigger games.
King Phillip: Novus:
http://warlight.net/Map?ID=12814 . Hirilia:
http://warlight.net/Map?ID=6106 .
Good looking maps. Novus looks playable on 3v3 and 4v4. Hirilia looks like it'd work better for a bigger game.
Apollo: Red Dead Redemption:
http://warlight.net/Map?ID=13590 . Big British Isles:
http://warlight.net/Map?ID=9784 . Renaissance Italy:
http://warlight.net/Map?ID=12815 .
Red Dead Redemption is one of my favorite 1v1 maps. Apollo also makes some nice big maps. They are well designed and have a decent amount of strategy to them. I would be surprised if he doesn't get a couple more 4+ rated maps soon.
Qi: Greater Middle East:
http://warlight.net/Map?ID=5498 . France:
http://warlight.net/Map?ID=894 . China:
http://warlight.net/Map?ID=8144 . Ancient Greece:
http://warlight.net/Map?ID=536 .
Qi has only one map rated 4+. But he has at least 5 that are rated 3.75 or above and I think some players may underrate his maps because of their personal dislike of him. Ancient Greece is one of the most popular 1v1 maps, and China is one of the best 2v2 maps. His maps are well designed and offer many different types of games.
